Re: 2014 Frozen Four
About 30 minutes from Brunswick, door to door. Of course the ride will be familiar to Nescac schools since Bates, our non-hockey playing member, lives there. I think our friends from Norwich and the rest of the ECAC-E will find the surroundings friendly too. The interlocking schedule NESCAC and ECAC-E used to play in hockey was loosely mirrored though the rest of the sporting schedule. It's a decent facility, lots of new hotels in adjacent Auburn, Maine. Bates has a rink which may be available for morning additional skates and of course Bowdoin and Brunswick are close-by. Lots of history. Cassius Clay beat Sonny Liston with the famous phantom punch in the 1960's and the place has seen tons and tons of high school hockey over the years. The ice surface.....meh.
