2014-2015 Minnesota State University, Mankato Season Thread: Shipping up to Boston?

Must be a generational thing to worry about the scoreboard. As long as it gives me the time remaining, score, and shots on goal, I'm good.

I'll admit it used to bother me less until I traveled to other arenas. From a fan standpoint I just think a nice scoreboard adds to the viewing experience. Ability to add things like scores from around the WCHA, highlights, etc.

Schools in MN and the area updating their facilities we need to keep up because those do matter to recruits.

Mavs21 are you saying they are remodeling VWC for the hockey team? That would be good for you guys but I thought I heard they didn't appropriate much for it in St Paul?

Yes, they are getting a ton of new stuff, locker rooms, weight rooms, study n video areas, kitchen etc. Hastings got basically everything he was promised. They were suppose to cut the therapeutic pools out but they are getting those too. All granite in the offices etc. The visitors locker room will be moved as well. It will be exciting for our players n coaches.

Thanks for the memories and good luck Stephon. I don't expect to see a goalie in the box or one flip the net... ever again I guess!

He was quite a character in net, and you could tell he loved his teammates and this program. Best of luck to him, he was a pleasure to watch in net.:)

Amen! I thought it took a lot of character for him to keep working through a lousy sophomore season, and then not getting the nod to start this year against UNO. But his dedication and good attitude paid off, and when he got the chance this season, he seized it. Best of luck, Willie! We'll miss you.

I was really hoping that the news coming out about CJ Motte and the Islanders would have persauded him to come back for another year but who can ever blame any player for taking his shot for the NHL. The best part too is that when other players have left in the past we have struggled to replace them. Huggins can get his form back and will. Now he knows that he is the preseason favorite to start so he can focus on that and do the same thing Stephon did his junior year. Im wishing him the best beacuse we need to put a goaltender up on Verizon Wall.

That is good news. Deserve it the way the program has risen to the top!

Stephon Williams made his professional debut a winning effort last night with a 3-2 win for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He made 30 saves, and was the 3rd star of the game. Fellow Maverick and teammate Kael Mouillerat had a goal and an assist in the game.

He will be missed next year.
