Something should be said because IMO it's disgusting that they attempted to make a fan bus into a profit maker. That bus deal was an absolute joke. It was disgusting that the school even promoted it. While UNO is obviously willing too take a financial loss to get 100 students to the game just because.

I'm fairly certain that places like UNO, or MTU who offered better deals were funded largely by donor money, FYI...

Best of luck to you all this weekend and congratulations on another great season. You surely earned the #1 overall seed, here's to getting the NCAA monkey off your backs and getting to the Frozen Four as well. While no game at this point is easy I like your chances against RIT. UNO would be a tough out in the next one as it sounds like they have Massa and Zombo back, but as you've shown, they can be beat. Harvard would be tough as well, but seems to me if you play your game, you'll be able to take care of business.

Would love to see three Minnesota teams in Boston. Would be even better if one of those wasn't a rodent, but hey, I guess that's better than an east coast team. Maybe.

And yes, the Williams tossing the net against UM was quite a moment. Don't believe I've ever cheered harder for a team other than SCSU more than during that game for you.

I have no doubt but they obviously have the system in place to create such a deal and MSUM needs to have that as well. For football it was 98 to bus down to Kansas city. Should have done something similar and had folks handle their own accommodations. Anything is better then what they did. For better part of a month or two it was fairly obvious south bend was a good possibility. I just don't think the athletic office did enough imo. Do something all year at games to generate $$$ too sponsor a bus for post season games. Anything..... I'd gladly donate.

Excellent idea. Have a bucket where donations could be made at the games. People could drop spare change or a buck or two. Clearly, that would have created enough to send a bus load of students.

A third jersey auction like they used to, or create some nice shirts to sell, in college we could work the snack bar and get $$ in return. (there are better suited people out there who would have better ideas). Obviously I’m not sure exactly what can be done but I just think that a system needs to be established whether it’s by the school or the blue line club that starts to create an endowment if you will for scenarios like this. Trips like this build students into life long fans and thats what the program needs. Now clearly there is a very good chance Im completely wrong but just an opinion.

Or have some company’s sponsor the bus trip or give them some free or cheeper advertising for them next year any of that would make it more affordable for fans and students to make the trip I know it was really short time to try to put this together and I know there where some people trying to make it happen but they could have been working on it for at least a week they knew most likely go to south bend

Free Press article today. "We still feel like we have our best hockey to play," senior forward Matt Leitner said. I sure hope he is right. No matter the outcome this has been a fantastic year to be a Maverick fan.

I hope he is right too. I'm pulling for a upset tomorrow just because I think it will reinforce the idea that RIT isn't a gimme but this team has been all business and I don't expect that to change.

Tired of black and purple. Not our school colors.

I know people won't like the Mankato part but I am proud of the city of Mankato, it is awesome

Congratulations to the Mavericks on such a great year. I have felt that your team will win the last game of the year for a while now. It was hard but still a pleasure watching the Lakers get schooled the games in the Soo. Good Luck until you meet Tech. Respect

Thanks! First, we need to get to 1 NCAA victory, then if we do that, we'll worry about Sunday!

Best of luck to the Lakers in the coming years. It's good for all of college hockey to have the tradition-rich programs back in the hunt.

Thank you. Believe me Mankato is for real and it has a coach that will make the team know nothing is free, it's earned.
