Big win for the Hawkeyes yesterday. Pitt is going to be pretty **** good next year if they can get some consistent QB play.

It was awesome to see Iowa throw the ball downfield for a change. Sunshine might just turn things around offensively in Iowa City..If the coaches allow it, anyways.

That South Carolina game could be their dagger for that dream.

If FSU goes to the playoff, someone in the ACC has to go to the Orange Bowl. A 9-3 Clemson team would be the best choice over...Duke? Georgia Tech?

I do as well, but part of the B1G suckfest is due to the demise of Michigan Football. The Big Ten needs Michigan to be good.

Why? I keep hearing this and don't understand it. The SEC doesn't need Bama or Auburn or Florida to be good. The Big 12 doesn't need Texas to be good. The Pac 12 doesn't need USC to be good.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

**** that. They don't even need OSU to be good. They just need to be relevant by winning the bulk of their non conference games.

It doesn't matter if it's Wisconsin, northwestern, Indiana, or ****, even Minnesota. They just need a story.

I feel like the problems at Michigan are just a small picture look of the bigger problems within the conference. Ultimately the key for the Big Ten to regain some ground is to immensely improve in the non-conference. When the historically successful programs, with massive fan bases, are successful, good things happen. These are the teams that play in big time non-conference games regularly, etc. I guess theoretically they don't NEED Michigan to be good, but I think it helps.

It's a shame that with all the division and scheduling changes that MSU and Wisconsin will barely play anymore. It's already a great basketball rivalry and it was quickly becoming a good football rivalry. Heck, I still stand by the fact that they played two of the top three games in 2011, maybe even the top two. I do have to admit it's harder to dislike them with Bielema gone. Not sure if it'll be that way when Bo Ryan leaves or not.

I was really hoping MSU would be in the West. MSU/UW was growing nicely and Iowa and MSU have played in numerous close games recently as well.

Maybe that 100k streak won't end for Michigan. They're now running a promo on campus that if you buy 2 Coca-Cola products you get 2 free tickets to the Minnesota game. So students can get a ticket for $1.50 when students who ordered season tix are paying ~$43 a game.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

That's the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen. And not for Minnesota fans.

Minnesota @ Michigan is hard to pick. This feels like MNs chance to win in AA.
