2014-15 schedules

Re: 2014-15 schedules

I was hoping those would be non-conference home games that weekend. Looks like the Lakers will not play any non-conference games at home this season.

They could still play a non-conference team at home October 17-18. Originally Michigan Tech was supposed to play at LSSU that weekend but got changed to October 4-5. Perhaps the Lakers needed that weekend to get a NC team to play at home.

Also US Under 18 team is at UAH January 24-25. I don't see it listed on the spreadsheet.

I put it on the bottom because it actually overloads UAH's schedule by one game. They must pick one or the other; by NCAA by-laws they are not allowed to play both. See 17.12.

10/11 - Holy Cross
10/24 - @ Mercyhurst
10/25 - @ Mercyhurst
1/2 - Mariucci Classic
1/3 - Mariucci Classic

Yeah, I want to go to Minnesota just to see Merrimack... Shoot me now

Edit: if this puts Lowell out then I'm very annoyed. I wanted to do this trip.

Surprised to see back to back weekends against Ferris State. I know some teams played a team back to back last season, but there was usually a bye week in between for one of the teams.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

I think we can make some predictions to round out the WCHA schedule:

LSSU and Mankato will likely play February 20-21, unsure where. The other one can be one of three: November 28-29, January 2-3, January 9-10. Mankato must still fit in their weekend with the Gophers, and I suspect that will be one of those three; obviously not January 2-3 because that's the Mariucci Classic. Mankato also has the weekend with Northern Michigan to schedule, and I would predict November 14th-15th, unsure where. Mind you that January 2nd-3rd is also possible, but the WCHa seems to have a pattern of having two teams off on a given weekend, and Bowling Green/UA_ already fit that paradigm.

I will also predict the Clarkson/State series to be in Thanksgiving, the same weekend that RPI goes to AA. Sure there are other possibilities, but December with the Atlantic teams, as well as Russia, seems a bit more plausible.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

A while back, Bergeron made the comment that just because BG has the exemptions, does not mean they will all be used.

That's the case with a number of the WCHA teams; I believe one team had the possibility to play 40, and only did 38.
