2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

i'm not seeing a team out there that will destroy fsu. beat? i'd say probable, but not destroy.

Normally I would agree with you (nobody is really that much more talented than Crim U), but I believe that Criminal U is ready for an epic meltdown. I can see certainly see Alabama (maybe even Oregon) crushing the Criminoles and making them pay for mistakes. Moreover, I think that if one of these teams can not only build a lead but smack Crim U in the mouth in the second half, I could see the Criminoles losing their composure(while that hasn't happened on the football field often this season, it has happened countless times off it, and I think Winston's battery of the official yesterday was a good indication of what a future meltdown could look like...assuming officials properly officiate the game).

It may not happen, but I would love nothing more than the Criminoles get what they deserve. I would also be okay if they lost in heartbreaking fashion...like an Oilers-Bills type meltdown. That would be fun to watch too.

?? I know you were being funny, but Nebraska isn't a trophy game, so I'm not sure where you're coming from. (There was a picture of a fake trophy circulating on Facebook, maybe that's where you got the idea?)

Someone actually made the trophy and it was on the sidelines and brought into the lockerroom after the game.

It also made an appearance at the basketball game last night.

This is actually a trophy I respect more than half the crap that has been done recently. Cy hawk, freedom, hero, land grant. All were forced and have no back story. This one was created because of an Internet meme to make fu. Of the other trophies. It has a back story and was created organically. It's also effing hilarious.

There is only one axe. And it ain't the Stanford axe. :)

And there's only the Axe because a certain chicken**** red school "lost" the original (slab of bacon) trophy as they knew they'd lose it. Pukes they are. :)

Yeah, I thought it was much ado about nothing until I saw the video. It was really bad.

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

And if the ref didn't realize how badly he blew the call, he would have thrown the flag, I'd guess.

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

The ref may have lined up in the wrong spot, but he still can't touch the ref. Should have been an ejection.

To be fair to the ref, he likely would have been raped by Winston had he thrown the flag. But yes, Winston should have been ejected. Of course, he should be in jail right now too, but when you are on the football team at Crim U., you can do whatever the hell you want and not have to worry about the ramifications.

Not true! If you hit a car and flee the scene the police will give you a parking ticket.

I still think the Little Brown Jug has a pretty fantastic story.

The good trophies are awesome. It's crap like the Bell that chaps my hide.

The $5 trophy...that's just awesome. Representative of the times and culture we live in. Organic in growth/creation, not business-created. Love it.

I just love the back story on this one. Plus Goldy had a pretty great series of tweets when they were building it.

Aww, your Axe has been around from 1948 and you think that's old. So cute.
Both your trophies are newbies! Behold the Territorial Cup, the oldest rivalry trophy in college football, which goes back to the 19th century, predating Arizona statehood by a good 13 years. :)

That's the way (sorta) that a trophy should come about... more or less organically. I love it.

So much better than our BS bull trophy or whatever they came up with for the Wisconsin/Nebraska "rivalry."

And Stanford... your band is a disgrace, your mascot is a mentally challenged Christmas tree and there is only one AXE.

I got injured while engaging in the sport of golf said:

Well, there WAS only one Axe. Then a couple of teams who couldn't keep track of what apparently was such a precious trophy to them decided to either copy an existing one or not take five minutes to do research of which trophies already existed.
