2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

The WAC doesn't exist anymore (for football), in part because of Boise's move to the Mountain West. Boise made that move in hopes of strengthening their schedule after they got sick of hearing about how awful the WAC was. At the time it was a great move and there was a thought that the Mountain West could replace the Big East as one of the BCS conferences.

The year Boise made the move, I believe Utah had made a BCS game the year before, TCU made the Rose Bowl that year, and Boise was doing their Boise thing. In addition, Air Force, CSU, and SDSU had strong seasons so there was definitely an argument to be made for stealing that BCS slot. Of course, as we all know, Utah and TCU split for bigger and better pastures, leaving Boise in a somewhat similar situation to what they had before. 2011 was their last great year.

forgot about the change from the WAC to the Mountain West- I grew up on the WAC back in Idaho, and since most of the MW are former WAC schools, well.... Just not BYU, Hawaii, or Utah.

Still, with the collapse of the BE, BSU really has no hope to get into a power conference. At least how the school is managed at the moment. Not sure about Marshall, but knowing BSU, I bet Marshall has a better chance at the ACC than BSU does with any conference. And now that they are deep in debt, and the fair weather fans have not helped pay the bills, well.

still question oregon being in top 4 but committee has them #2.

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

honestly don't know...what do the rest of the rankings mean outside top 4? anything? is there someone from outside power 5 you think is underrated?

Well, some G5 is going to a 1/1 game. I'm just a little surprised at Minnesota staying at 25, Clemson dropping 3 spots after a 3 td loss, and Auburn at #14 with 3 losses. Then, the committee points at this stuff to justify the top 4.

Long said Bama win was decisive vs Miss St ... then said Miss St was always in striking distance. Hmmm.

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

Long also said that Alabama is the most complete team in offense, defense and kicking.

Unfortunately for this moron, Alabama is currently kicking field goals at a 67% clip.

I believe the committee is going to get some influence on bowl matchups, and this helps them with that?

Saturday is probably the most important Iowa football game since playing Wisconsin in 2010. A huge opportunity for Iowa, and unfortunately, one I don't think it can take advantage of thanks to Melvin Gordon.

The mighty SEC is taking on five Div I-AA schools today to show that their schedules are the best in the land! In those five games they are favored by a total of 186.5 points.

They scheduled their cupcakes at the right time. November losses kill your ranking.

Next week will be for a whole lot more than the axe.

Should be exciting.
