It helps that (a) Chicago has an O-Line worth a **** (I can barely remember what that looked like in GB) and (b) evidently when you get past our injured linebackers, our team has maybe 3 defenders who know how to tackle (that 3rd and long pass to Bennett that set up the 4th and 2 inches is still ****ing me off)

No doubt, but Capers waited till the 4th to send anything to make McCown uncomfortable.
On the QB front, here's McCarthy on Flynn a few weeks back when he was available:
“Personally, I’m very happy with the quarterback room, the way it looks, the people in it,” McCarthy said. “Obviously Matt was a Packer. I’m very fond of Matt and his time here. I do like Seneca Wallace. I like what he’s done since he’s been here.”
Yeah, he likes Wallace but can't call the playbook with him? BS. Wallace was horrible and won't be any better next week if he has to start.
Again, pennywise Thompson doesn't want to get us help that's available. I like Thompson overall, but sometimes he's a stubborn idiot.
This game was easily winnable with even a competent backup.

It didn't even matter what Capers sent. Bennett made the catch at least 9 yards from the marker. One missed tackle shortly after the catch? That happens. But to have THREE d-backs converge on him, with plenty of room to spare, only to have ALL of them stop on their heels only two yards in front of the first down marker? Unacceptable. One of them could've easily met him at least two yards closer, but instead they stayed on their heels and Bennett runs over them and **** near got the first down outright.
That's just atrocious tackling and terrible awareness, even for defensive backs (who at this point, I assume tackle with about as sound fundamentals as the average poster here).
And I still cannot find the words to describe my level of disdain for this offensive line.

I totally agree with you on that play. Was pulling out my hair too. Just grab hold and wait for help. That was the play of the game although I'm not so sure that Wallace would have done anything had we gotten the ball anyway.
My comments about Capers are that he allowed McCown to be comfortable for 3 quarters. Think Belichick would done that with/to a backup?

Somehow I eked out a win despite the injury to Rodgers working in my opponent's favor, and after a 1-2 start I'm tied for first at 7-2 (in second on the tiebreaker) despite having scored fewer points than a 6-3 team, a 5-4 team, a 4-5 team and a 3-6 team.

Anybody hear the M&M show this AM where they played the tape of an interview with Incognito talking about QB Tannehill last year? He told Dan Lebatard that he and the linemen were going to go out and buy jet skis and make Tannehill pay for them...when asked how they can do that he came across like you'd expect based on what you have learned recently. That guy is a real problem...that he was on the council is hard to fathom. I 'understand' how teams don't address guys with outside problems and issues but how do they let this moron disrupt their team?

I have given up on my actual fantasy team already, despite being in 2nd place with the most points scored as recent as 3 days ago. I have too many injuries to overcome, especially with the horse**** for QBs I had to begin with. I just made an offer for Blackmon (it is a keeper league) in hopes that he'll pull his head out of his *** at some point.

I'm going with Newton because my other options are walking-wounded Terrell Pryor (though against the Giants it might be worthwhile) or someone from the waiver wire.
