2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

23 homers allowed...they have to do something with Estrada right? Send him to the 'pen or preferably the minors to get straightened out IMO.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

I enjoyed that grand slam more than any grand slam in quite awhile. Enjoy your forthcoming suspension, Mr. Gibson. Perhaps you can resist high-fiving your pitcher in the dugout after he gets tossed for throwing at guys.

Not so many high-fives after the next guy gave up the grand slam, though.

There is perhaps a time and a place to throw at somebody. Loading the bases in a game you are winning when the team's best hitter is up next is perhaps NOT that time.

So I had the game on pip, whats the reason for wanting to hit Braun?

All anyone's said is "retribution" - for what exactly, is not detailed. For 2011? Get over it, that was 3 years ago, and they've faced him plenty of times since then (like, um, YESTERDAY). Why now? I haven't seen anything in this game that would merit throwing at him, but maybe I missed it.

I'm not necessarily against brushing guys back or even hitting them (because that was NOT a get-off-the-plate pitch), but high-fiving your pitcher in the dugout after he gets tossed? And doing it in THAT situation? Completely moronic. It's like he's TRYING to get fired.

See what Roenicke did there? Goldschmidt up with 2 on, Brewers lead.. and he didn't hit him to "get back" at Arizona. Because he's not an effing moron.

Brewers win! Bad time to ask Gibson for another high five? :D

From reading this morning's article, apparently it was "payback" for hitting two DBacks, neither of which was on purpose. Also, from reading this morning's article, Marshall said he did not hit him on purpose, so you should obviously put a lot of stock in what they say.

"You know what?" Brewers starter Kyle Lohse said. "They won tough-guy points today. But I don't know where the stats are for those. We won the game because of that. It was pretty unnecessary."

:D

This quote makes me miss Zack Greinke interviews a little. :)

Just got to that inning on the dvr.

Beautiful, just beautiful.

Eat us Gibson.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

I may have to go back and watch that inning on MLB.TV.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

The catcher gives the "hit him" sign and Gibson gives pitcher high 5 in the dugout. Then says it wasn't intentional. It's ok to lie about it, but not when it's so obvious

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

well! that was an interesting series. :D

Perhaps the teams have been partaking in the local Colorado.... agriculture. I can't remember the last time I saw so many errors and baserunning mistakes in one series.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

What a great road trip. 6-1 in places they usually don't play well, especially CO. Here's hoping we get to playing equally well at home. Tough matchups with the Nats: Gonzalez, Zimmerman, Strasburg.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

It was a strange weekend to be in the stands for 2 of those games. Friday was great with all the power, Saturday I was up in the Mountains, seeing those crazy errors to clear the bases was funny. Sunday, was a great game but I left the stadium disappointed after watching the end of the USA vs Portugal game on the bar TV.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

eff you, Gio Gonzalez. :p

Was surprised to see Aramis Ramirez take the lead in ASG voting for third basemen. Gomez currently third among OF. Lucroy and Segura distant seconds at their positions.

Heading to the game tomorrow for Estrada vs. Strasburg. Marco really needs a good outing.

Ian Desmond, <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/wp/2014/06/25/benches-clear-after-ian-desmond-takes-issue-with-carlos-gomezs-hard-slide/">latest defender of The Unwritten Rules</a>.

Gomez said Desmond told him he liked his shoes, and that he told him he could log onto NikeID.com and get some. :D

So the Brewers are suppose to stop trying? If that's case, how did that go for the Reds last friday? They lost 14-9 after being up 8-0 and 9-3.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Some numbers:

*49-32 is best first-half in franchise history (Brewers were 47-34 in 1979 and 2007 and neither time made the playoffs)
*FanGraphs gave the Brewers a 72.7% chance to make the playoffs and and 46.6% win the division

from ESPN article

Both Gomez and Segura are back today and you may now breathe.
