2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

This is just painful to watch.

And now they play the Cardinals.

On the bright side, K-Rod had a 1-2-3 inning! No hits, though. ;)
What a brutal stretch to watch on TV. Alex Gonzalez should be put out to pasture. Can't hit and can't really catch either. But hey, we need that veteran presence!

God I hope the Brewers play decent against the Cardinals on Sunday...managed to get tickets in the outfield near the Brewers dugout...would have liked better seats but not at the dynamic pricing prices they had...

Speaking of Alex Gonzalez not being able to catch, has there been any word on Hart's progress? He's eligible to come off the DL soon, right?

May 30th is the earliest date he could return. I haven't heard any updates on how he's doing lately though.

Edit: Sounds like he's progressing well.

Yo vs. Kershaw tonight. In a normal year for Yo, this would be a great matchup. Greinke vs. Burgos tomorrow, and Peralta vs. Ryu on Wednesday.

It's going to be an uphill battle this series, that's for sure. What's the O/U for runs by the Crew in this series? 5? Time to go on another 9 game winning streak.

I like Kershaw much better when he isn't pitching against the Brewers. On a bright note, the bullpen was fantastic last night.

Hart will start rehab in early June.

The positive energy from last night's win is now gone after this afternoon's game. 9-2 loss with a 5-run inning by the Dodgers featuring one run scoring on an error and 2 being walked in. On the bright side, Braun homered. On the far worse side, Lohse is experiencing 'elbow irritation' and will miss his next start. Fiers will fill in.

The (1 game) streak was epic though.

Ugh. Gonna be a long summer.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

the phrase "elbow soreness" is never good for a pitcher. especially an older one.

the bullpen was pretty good yesterday.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

hey guess what!!!!

The Cubs have sunk back to last place. Woohoo!! Second last!!! :D

(how can anyone be playing worse than the Brewers right now?)

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Things I didn't expect to happen: Macro Estrado goes 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER. Gonzalez knocks in our only 2 runs with a double. Brewers win for the first time all year when scoring less than 3 runs (1-19).

But on the injury front. Burgos to the 15 day DL. Gorzelany reinstated. Henderson leaves after 2/3 IP in the 9th and will be 'reevaluated' for a hammy issue. K-Rod finished the 9th for the save.

Ummm....have you seen the Astros this year? I think the Tigers just scored another 6 runs off of them in the time it took me to write that.

sounds like every Brewers starter, even the ones who aren't supposed to suck. :)

Henderson to the 15-day DL, though the pulled hammy is not considered the most serious form.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

I stayed up for that whole game last night. Segura with 6 hits, tying the franchise record and first to do it in MLB this year. Estrada and Lohse for the next two in Minny.

Side note: I just remembered that May has been "When the Brewers win, you win" month. A dollar off per win for tickets to the A's series. This month has been so horrendously bad, it reminded me of the ownership in Major League trying to tank the season. Maybe Mark A. checked the numbers and couldn't afford to give cheap tix. Apparently, Ryan Braun is chipping in to defray the cost of tix to that series in lieu of, you know, winning baseball games.

Email received today from the Brewers:
In the face of a tough month for the Brewers on the field, Ryan Braun has committed to supporting the "Brewers Win, You Win!" promotion by funding a significant savings on tickets for an upcoming series.

The original promotion called for every Brewers victory between May 1 and May 30 to earn $1 off a Terrace Box ticket for the June 3 - 5 series vs. the Oakland Athletics. With just five victories this month, though, the Brewers outfielder has made a move to ensure that Brewers fans are rewarded despite the team's struggles.

Regardless of how many wins the team records through the end of the month, fans will be able to purchase a limited number of Terrace Box (regularly $24) and Loge Bleacher ($23) seats for just $8 (matching Braun's uniform number). Braun is subsidizing the savings through a financial contribution, which will cover up to 4,000 tickets for each of the three games against the A's.

Ron Roenicke says losing is getting old. Gosh, really? I kind of like it. :p

I only had a mini-panic attack when Segura got hit on the arm last night. That's just what the sputtering offense needs.

In case you were wondering (I was) Kyle Lohse says his elbow is fine and he didn't tweak it having to whip around and watch all those home runs (ok, maybe he didn't say that last part).

Yo vs. Cole Hamels tonight.

This team is so ***** terrible right now...I can't believe I've paid money to see them 5 times in person now...all losses. Just pathetic to watch, thank god last night they at least had some timely hitting from someone to score some runs. Tuesday's game was just pathetic, the Twins pitcher was struggling to throw strikes and the Brewers barely took a walk. Doug Melvin deserves to be slapped upside the head thinking Betancourt should be our everyday first baseman. There has to be someone better somewhere for FIRST BASE.
