2013 Early Departures

I realize that this is so long ago as to be hardly relevant, but both Curtis Joseph and Mike Richter only played one year of college before moving on.

I believe in Wilcox! He should definitely go for it! :)

Richter played 2 seasons and then was the olympic goalie in 1988.

My bad.

Wiki only shows stats from 86-87. Hockey DB has him playing 22 games in 85-86, but doesn't have the stats for it.

Re: 2013 Early Departures

John LeClair from UVM left Appleton (SLU's rink) after a playoff loss and was in a Habs uniform the next day.

Re: 2013 Early Departures

They normally do not, but look at the crap Tampa Bay has now in both the NHL and AHL - I think Twocox is better than anything they currently have.
Tampa Bay has one of the best goaltending prospects out there and it's not Wilcox so I highly doubt he's going anywhere.

Re: 2013 Early Departures

UAA had a freshman goaltender sign an NHL contract and leave after a stellar single season where he won WCHA Rookie of The Year (98-99 when he went 2.31 gaa with 11 wins and 13 losses playing in front of the now famous and continuous Talafous left wing lock). Gregg Naumenko played 2 games in the show http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=42546 going 6.00gaa and a .759 save percentage. He then played for EIGHTEEN different AHL, ECHL and UHL teams over his SEVEN year professional career.

I am a little worried that Kenny Agostino won't be back for his senior year at Yale. I didn't think so in September, but the Penguins are thin at winger in the NHL and AHL. If Yale goes on a run Ago is going to be a big reason and if they end up in the Frozen Four he is going to be the talk of the City.

He is probably going to be back next year and Yale should be very good considering all the young talent they have. Miller will be a tough loss, but Miller and Ago would be real tough.

No chance O'Gera plays 4 year at Yale, but he should be there next year.

Re: 2013 Early Departures

I would love for Jensen to come back but I think Detroit is going to make it very hard for him to refuse.
Their scouts have been here a lot and Babcock came personally to see him against UNO.
