FSU is already ahead of the computers now, and Oregon plays after voters go to bed.

I'm talking about at the end of the season. Plus, the computers only account for 1/3 of the BCS. If Oregon goes undefeated, they will be ranked ahead of FSU. The coaches aren't going to push FSU above Oregon, neither will the Harris Poll, and the computers will love Oregon's victories over Stanford and UCLA (twice?) along with victories over Oregon State. Moreover, that victory over Tennessee early in the season may prove pivotal if the Vols keep playing well.

FSU has to hope that Miami goes undefeated other than the FSU game (and ACC title game) and Florida gets their game together. The Gators could easily be 6-5 when they meet up with FSU...not exactly that signature win to end the season.

Ultimately, an undefeated Oregon gets in over an undefeated Florida State. It really is that simple. FSU needs Oregon to lose, or both Missouri and Alabama to lose. They just aren't going to get in over an undefeated Oregon squad (nor an undefeated SEC squad...including Missouri).

While I think Alabama is very good, and Missouri is playing lights out and looks tough, I don't think the SEC is as good as the polls are indicating.

OSU was screwed when Vanderbilt ducked out and left them with FAMU. That and the Big Ten being awful in non-con play.

Agreed. Oregon has a tough lineup down the stretch. If they go undefeated they will have earned their place in the title game.

I also agree about the SEC. I'm really hoping for both Alabama and Missouri to falter. I'd love to see an Oregon-FSU national title game.

I think you speak for virtually everyone outside of SEC country in hoping Bama and Mizzou to falter.

The Big Ten just isn't very good, which also hurts OSU.

I dont think it is really that simple. Oregon, Oregon St and Stanford all have yet to play, someone is going to lose those games. Look at OSUs schedule, they could lose out from here and not look like a good win at all, just like Florida for FSU. Counting on 2 impressive wins over UCLA is a bit optimistic at this point too, they still have to play UW, ASU and USC, none of which are gimmes. FSU has Miami, Florida, and potentially a 1 loss VA Tech. No reason that FSUs schedule wont look better in the end, it's WAY too early to know.

I'll take a schedule of UCLA, Stanford, Utah, Arizona, and Oregon State (plus Pac 12 Title game)

over

NC State, Miami, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Idaho, and Florida (plus ACC Title game)

Further, factor in that Florida State is already receiving almost the max in the computers that it can get (.980). Moreover, Oregon will go up simply from either Alabama or Missouri losing.

Add that to the almost assured likelihood that Oregon will stay atop Florida State in both the Coaches Poll and the Harris Poll, and it just doesn't add up for Florida State. They are only 0.0028 ahead of Oregon at the moment, and those numbers won't sustain if Oregon goes undefeated.

Again, it really is as simple as that.

If Oregon runs the table, they're in. No questions asked. It's a done deal, that's the way it is.

So, according to the NCAA, a full decade of lack of institutional control at Miami isn't as bad as the fact that two players at USC took gifts from agents and a women's tennis player made some "unauthorized phone calls." I see.

They'll just tack Miami's penalty onto USC.
