Re: 2013 DI BCS Thread: Thorthu Thame ish bacth!

I think Wisconsin just had a receiver killed on a pretty **** clean hit. Almost looks like he broke his arm.

Got back from Pasadena this afternoon. Yeah that hit was clean but just hard, I hope the WR is OK. Good game, Stanford always keeps it interesting, but that was some fun tough and physical football, as it's been for the last couple years. Ball is impressive, interesting to see who takes him; though Taylor is amazing too, but I feel he'll end up going in a later round and being a major plus to whoever is smart enough to take him. Stanford now has 2 12-win seasons in the last 3, and a team everyone expecting to have 7 wins is the Rose Bowl champ and possibly top 5 in the final polls.

The scenery from the back row of the Rose Bowl (where we were) is awesome. Getting out of there on the shuttle is not; the line for the shuttle must have been two miles long and kept winding so you never knew how long it actually was; but that kinda made it fun in a crazy way.

I can now check going to a Rose Bowl victory off of the list. If anyone does it, I recommend the "flight out of Dulles at 6am on New Years Day" itinerary.

Wow. I didnt start watching this until the 2nd half, but this has been just great.

Louisville should have had at least the 3 there. But Florida finally remembered there is a game I guess and played some great D.

And here I thought the SEC was awesome. What a great win for UL. FLorida couldn't have done any worse to lose the game. Stupid penalties, turnovers, inability to stop the Cardinals and looks like their lack of offense finally caught up with them. How did they only lose one game all year?

They played in a cupcake conference.

Florida knows that they have a game tonight, right

They were a bunch of punks too. Both this game and the NIU game had way too many instances of the old "Da U" type posturing etc. It used to be a penalty (I think) to stand over a guy and not let him up or walk after him hitting your facemask into his as you talk trash. They were targeting heads as well..on the early incompletion review the receiver was on the ground, catch or not the DB can't go in head first and put his helmet into the guy's earhole. At least he shouldn't have been able to get away with that. When the Florida player started poking his finger in the ref's face and appeared ready to fight him there should have been a flag.

So they got what they deserved from a general perspective.

If I was an NFL GM, and I still had a job, I'd be putting Bridgewater's name near the top of my list.

One point safety!!! College is also the only level where the defense can record a conversion safety, so it is possible to only score one point, but just in college.

Well, the team scoring the safety would already have 6 points from the TD.... Interesting situation that I had no idea was in the rule book...

No, there's a scenario where a team can score just one point for the entire game, but it's incredibly improbable. The offense has to be tackled in their own endzone, AKA the one 97 yards away from the try. The stupid example is that the offensive runner runs backwards 97 yards and is tackled in the endzone. The more practical example is a blocked kick recovered by the defense; while nearing the kicking team's endzone for a successful two point return, that runner fumbles the ball, where the offense picks it up and runs it into their endzone and is then tackled. End result of the drive: 6 points for the offense, 1 for the defense. So, it requires two possession changes but it is possible.

Adam Schefter says Chip Kelly is gone from Oregon. He then went on to interview second year Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh.

Adam Schefter is a no-talent hack. I will never understand why people care about what he says, because in all likelihood, it's already been reported an hour or two before he reports it and only AFTER he takes credit for it.

Isn't being a no-talent hack a requirement for working for ESPN these days?

According to ESPNews, Chip Kelly to remain at Oregon.
