2013 Detroit Lions: Make the playoffs or Schwartz gets the Ziggy.

Re: 2013 Detroit Lions: Make the playoffs or Schwartz gets the Ziggy.

They aren't even gonna attempt to kick the PAT?

Re: 2013 Detroit Lions: Make the playoffs or Schwartz gets the Ziggy.

Nope. I'm not sure I would, either. That field is a mess.

Re: 2013 Detroit Lions: Make the playoffs or Schwartz gets the Ziggy.

Foles has All. Day. Long. to throw the ball back there.

Re: 2013 Detroit Lions: Make the playoffs or Schwartz gets the Ziggy.

So the ref are having problems seeing? Not sure how you you get roughing the passer on that, then a hold on who for the 2 point conversion???

Come on....

I know Detroit has to tackle better than that, but the refs should not be helping like that.

With the Lions it is not epic (heroic, long, grand, monumental), just another collapse in a long series of collapses for 56 years.

SAME OLD LIONS! *clap clap clapclapclap* SAME OLD LIONS! *clap clap clapclapclap*

On second thought, the current loss to the Eagles was not epic; but 56 years of general failure is epic. And, I suppose these last 56 years could be considered an epoch: a period of time in which the Detroit Lions were primarily mediocre at best.

When describing the Lions, I think alternative band Local H said it best in their hit "Bound For the Floor:"

Born to be down
I've learned all my lessons before now
Born to be down
I think you'll get used to it

And you just don't get it, you keep it copacetic
And you learn to accept it, you know it's so pathetic

Re: 2013 Detroit Lions: Make the playoffs or Schwartz gets the Ziggy.

At this stage it may be a blessing that they don't make the playoffs. Can you imagine playing SF or Carolina at home in a playoff game and losing by 4 TD's?

Seattle, SF, Carolina, New Orleans..... then Arizona, Philly, Dallas, Detroit, Chicago & Green Bay. NYG, Atlanta, Washington and Minnesota. Contenders, pretenders and draft choice vendors.

1918 -> 2004

Clever, but at least they got to the WS in 1975. Lions: 1 playoff win in 50+ years. 1 NFC conference championship appearance, 1992. Whoa, what a resume'.

You could always play Philly again, just like in '95. ;)

I'm running far away now. :D

Bears won. We have to win out to make the playoffs, don't we?

They'll win the next 3 games easily, have a lead late, and then find some new and creative way to break our hearts once more.

That may have been the most bizzarre snowstorm I've ever seen. I live 60 miles north of the Linc, and when there was 6" of snow on the ground at the field, there was none on the ground where I live. As I understand it, the snow was in a band 30 miles to the north and south of Philly.

The Bears and Lions are tied at 7-6. Lions have the tie breaker. Bears have to finish with a better record, period. GB is 6-6-1, 1/2 game behind. They could also win out and take the division since 9-6-1 trumps 9-7. The Bears and Packers play in the last game for both of them, so one of those teams will be knocked out by that. Lions have the next two games at home, could win both and then crap the bed in Minnesota just like they have done since I have been alive. They needed 10 wins, period, which won't happen now, IMO.

Schwartz is done, I think. He lost this team sometime in the past two seasons...undisciplined, careless, wreckless- call it what you want, but foolish penalties and meltdowns on both sides of the ball have cost this team their best chance at a division title in years.

I was done with Schwartz after last season. He has no farking clue how to coach discipline.
