I don't know, this article makes him sound like a great hire. There's something to be said for the guy who walks softly and carries a big stick, he's big on discipline and accountability, less focused on yelling and screaming, which is probably what these felons need. We'll see.

caught the end of an interview with him on channel 7 at 5pm. The reporter sends it back to the studio...

First thing the main to compliment him over is his familiarity with technology. Why? Because he texted some of the players.

Really? He can text? Certainly puts him at the top of the coaching list.

Been hearing that from every coach that comes in since Fontes. It is not the coaching selection, it's the ownership. Keep in mind: Last Tigers WS champ= new owner (Monaghan) and close with Ilitch. Last Wings SC championship= new owner (from Norris.) Pistons with Gores? I doubt it with what I have seen. Ford wants to win, but has too much input in the business. It will always be a coaches challenge in Detroit to fight through that.

I'm too lazy to do a search, but if memory serves, you can find the exact same things written about Scwhartz in the Detroit media when he was hired for the 2010 season. Streaker is dead on about Ford. This is a huge reason the team struggles. Similar thing to what Cowboys fans deal with, but Dallas just gets more publicity with their meddling owner.

So a guy by the name of Jim Bob Cooter will be our quarterbacks coach.

You guys know the Lions better than me, but I thought Delmas was one of if not the only decent DBs that Detroit had.

I understand trying to save some money, but what does that do to the D-secondary now?

He was good...when he was healthy. And I don't know what we're gonna do.

Sure he played all 16 games last year, but he was barely healthy the whole time.

If I recall correctly, he hardly practiced and was usually a gametime decision. And nobody else could have stepped up to take the starting spot from him with all of that extra practice time?
