Player signings in the ECHL, SPHL, CHL, AHL have started. Several players signed at the end of last season. Anyone have any news on their plans for this year?

Brad Nunn - Fredonia
Nick Craven - Wesleyan
Will Aide -UWSP
Nick Broadwater - Hobart
Alex Milley - Bowdoin
Rob Florentino - UM Boston
Nick Dupuis - Skidmore

Re: 2013 D3 Pro Signings

Norwich update:

Pier-Olivier Cotnoir will be playing in Germany next season with former Cadet captain Chad Anderson '11. Currently he is playing in Australia.

Kyle Thomas had knee surgery after the season and I expect he will latch on SOMEWHERE for next season.

Tory Allan is hoping to continue playing somewhere as is Colin Mulvey I think.

I believe Blake Forkey is hanging up the skates and I believe is going to pursue medical school.

Re: 2013 D3 Pro Signings

Will Aide signed with Columbus mid season last year after he was kicked of the Pointers squad.

Re: 2013 D3 Pro Signings

from Hobart:
Brad Richard-Alaska Aces (ECHL)
Mike White-Tours (France)

Update: Harry Radovich-Invited to Florida Everblades Training Camp

Others may go pro too (Ausserhofer, Broadwater).

Good news! I have someone to go watch next year now.

He's a treat to watch. His speed will remind you of Musselwhite. Neil developed a bit more of a shot though than Kyle had at Norwich. I'm hoping Kyle bulks up a bit and develops the rest of his game more and he could really progress up the ladder. It wouldn't shock me if he made the AHL sooner rather than later.

For whatever reason, Kyle didn't progress in all aspects of his game as much as some of the other players I have seen at Norwich. Don't get me wrong, he was always an excellent player, but seemed almost as much a raw talent when he finished as when he started at Norwich. Other guys become more polished as they "age." Great talent - I hope he can do well.

Just my opinion but in the NCAA Final Four games Kyle Thomas was one of the Norwich players who played at a very high level and seem to improve with the competition. Sort of like Nikita Kashirsky who has had a good career in the ECHL and played some in the AHL.

Two signings in the SPHL:

Josh Harris (Castleton State) with the Huntsville Havoc
Adam Laite (U of New England) with the Louisiana Icegators

Re: 2013 D3 Pro Signings

Another signing in the SPHL:

Jordan Zalba (Neumann) - Columbus Cottonmouths

Please explain: as someone without any inside knowledge of the events, from the outside it seems that something significant with the university must have happened. Cant believe UConn refused to touch.

DU decided that getting the NCAAs on a regular basis wasn't enough. They lost in the first round too many times in a row for the AD. The guy was loved by the fans, the media and (as far as I have heard) the players. It was a shock to everyone. It's the modern view in college athletics that if you don't win it all you are a bum. Very sad example of values in college athletics.

There were other possible factors as well, including (but probably not limited to): gwoz was about to hit 20-yrs, which is a trigger for certain university pension benefits; gwoz was given many chances to renegotiate his contract, and kept stalling, possibly leaving a bad taste in the administration's mouth; gwoz interviewed at OSU a couple years ago, and masked it as "consulting", the truth eventually came out; the trustees are a headstrong bunch, and the above contract and interview shenanigans, coupled with the lack of tournament success likely implied that Gwoz thought he was bigger than the university.

While I think it was a poor decision, and the way it went down raised a lot of eyebrows, as a DU fan I'm very excited to have Monty here. Gwoz's style was getting stale, an up-tempo offensive system like Monty will install will be a lot of fun to watch.

See my previous post. Also, with RE: to UConn not touching, they likely felt they couldn't afford $300k/yr for a 60yo coach. The same is probably true at Maine and Huntsville, where he also interviewed. Its fairly obvious that any of those positions would merely be an interim job while he waits for Wisco or Michigan State to need a new head coach. He has significant ties to both of those schools, and they can afford him.
