Union's power play didn't even begin until two minutes into the major as one of Union's guys got a roughing minor for taking Curadi down rather easily.

Bodie's crosscheck at 0:05 was not immediately provoked. It appears Higgs is not even looking at him, as his head is following the puck off the draw.

It's possible Bodie was retaliating for something that happened earlier in the game, but it is certain he was not shielding himself from a charge.

From someone without a dog in this fight: (and I will admit, I don't know the history between these two teams. If your defense is that this was due for games or seasons back, then fine, but I can tell you what I thought of just what happened this weekend)

Bodie completely is at fault for starting this. The RPI player was going to cover him in case a last second shot was taken. The RPI player even turns, sees that the draw was won into the corner, and then slows up. As he is returning his head back towards where he is skating, he gets clocked in the face by Bodie. I will concede that the RPI players that got onto the ice certainly started picking fights, but they jumped over the boards in an attempt to congratulate their goalie for a hard-fought win. Once Bodie cross-checked the RPI player in the grill, it was game on and you should expect that... the can of worms had been opened and you can't expect Pandora to go back in her box.

As for Bennett, I think more than a 2 game suspension is fair, but I am not going to call for his head if that's all that happens. I didn't see anything out of Appert that makes me believe he was doing anything other than trying to get his boys off the ice. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe he was whispering Bertuzzi-like hits into their ears, but to speculate that that's what he did based on the video we've seen is pretty far-fetched.

Lastly, whoever that was a few pages back that said he didn't know who Adam Oates is should be kicked off this forum for good.

Don't even bother. Union fans say they will be objective, but everyone knows otherwise.

All you need to know about Appert's tenure is since he took over in 2006-2007 season, every ECAC program except for RPI has made the league final 4. To make matters worse, 10/12 league teams have made the ECAC Final Four at least twice. Looking at performance alone I never understood how RPI kept him around, let alone gave him a long term extension after last season.

But we totally didn't finish second in the ECAC standings last year, and 4th 2 seasons before that.

The fine folks at WaP, as well as other fans with Cherry and White Ray Bans, berated us for weeks after we won the Cleary Cup but then lost to Colgate in the ECAC's since they felt that regular season achievements meant zero unless they were accompanied by success in the ECAC Tourney...

From the looks of the video, he's standing in guard of Appert as Appert is going out to tell his team to return to the bench. Not the first time Appert has assigned him this sort of role, as he and LeBœuf have had to escort Diebold off the ice when teams get a bit rowdy at the end of a period and want to start teeing off. Obviously your player is instigating something, as Curadi then gives him a shove. He's keeping his cool when your players start coming out; he didn't go straight for the fight. Once again, you are trying to use a player's reputation to discredit him when video evidence clearly shows the contrary. You have shown within the past 48 hours, with exception of a couple people, that your entire college and associated support is filled with sore losers.

OK troll, You mention quite a few instances in this fantasy realm of yours with the qualifier, "obviously"....Were you on the ice? Do you specifically have empirical evidence that everything you thought you saw on this tape happened exactly the way you believe it to be??? The correct answer here is NO. And for the record, none of us do...The ECAC has access to both coaches, as many players as they want to interview, the entire officiating crew, the support staff around the benches and every possible video angle including anything posted on the internet...They will make their decision soon and I as a Union fan will abide with their decisions...Will the RPI trolls abide by the league's decisions if, by chance, they aren't afforded the pound of flesh they are so desperately seeking given their "obvious" hatred of Union Hockey?????
