Ghost doesn't make the Hobey Hat Trick. Very disappointing as I think he should've been ahead of Dowd.

Union College, Boston College and Minnesota are the only schools selected to the NCAA Div. I Men's Ice Hockey Championship tournament in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Very impressive Dutchmen

The voting was done after this weekend. Ghost goes pointless albeit he had a great defensive weekend. Dowd scores the game winner. People can be short term and that's probably why Dowd got in

You're probably right on that front, but it would've been nice to see Ghost get the recognition. I didn't realize Dowd's scoring numbers were so low until now. I was very impressed with him when Union played St. Cloud back in December, but 40 points in 38 games doesn't exactly scream Hobey Baker to me. All in all, this likely doesn't matter as the Hobey committee should probably go ahead and stop handing the award out if Gaudreau doesn't win this year.

When was the last time an ECAC team member won it? Was it Lane MacDonald back in 1989?

1988-89 Lane MacDonald-* F Sr. Harvard 32 __ 31-29--60 __ 42

Didn't a St. Cloud player win it last year? They will never give it to them two years in a row.

What about St. Lawrence's Greg Carey? Does he have a chance?

The Clarkson's Girls Hockey won the ECAC Womens Title. Maybe the Hockey Gods will continue to smile on the ECAC? :)

No. There's no bigger ECAC booster than I, but it's Gaudreau in a rout. He's got the stats and the hype and, most irritating of all, he deserves it.

Ghost has had a great season (I strongly suspect, come August, a great career). Don't be disappointed -- he was thrilling to watch, even for an opponent.

The Hobey has been Gaudreau's, barring the plague hitting him, since winter break. Carey had a fine year, and an excellent career, but just not quite good enough.

I'm fine with Ghost not being a finalist, it gives him more reason to come back next season! ;) Somehow, I don't see the Flyers letting him leave Philly without a signed contract. :( Actually I'm a bit worried about that as a potential distraction for him. I think the same thing was going on behind the scenes two years ago with Jeremy Welsh in Tampa and it may have effected his play in the semi. Hopefully I'm wrong, I usually am.

I thought the coaches did a great job with our non-conference schedule this year. I thought it was one of the best we have had. The coaches could not have known the types of seasons these teams would be having.

2 against Bowling Green
2 against Lake Superior
1 against Connecticut
2 against Penn State
2 against ST Cloud
2 against UNH
1 Time Union Tournament RPI

Any word on what next year looks like? I have heard that we have Maine scheduled. Any other HE teams? Big10?

Maine at home for 2
St Cloud at home 2
UNH at home 1
RPI at T/U 1 Jan 24
2 at Notre Dame Nov 27/28
2 at Bridgeport Tourney Dec 27 & 28

That is still unofficial but fairly solid. That leaves 2 unknown.

From what I've learned, Union sold 600 tix. However I understand that unlike Bridgepoert and LP, they are not exclusively in one or two sections of the arena but are spread around.

Re: 2013-2014 Union Dutchmen - Can U Three Peat? (Part II)

Perhaps because "Ghost" as you call him SUCKS is enough reason to understand why he didn't make it to the top 3. BTW for those that think he is big enough for the NHL think again although I am sure all of you have played in the NHL and know what it is like.
I agree with Ghost being undersized at the NHL level, but he "sucks"??

"Frozen Four Odds: Minnesota Favored, Boston College Not Far Behind"

http://www.bcinterruption.com/ncaa-...ton-college-not-far-behind-union-north-dakota

Early lines and props have been posted for the Frozen Four, and Minnesota is favored to come out on top by a slim margin over Boston College.

Minnesota wins NCAA title: +150 (2.5 to 1)
Boston College wins NCAA title: +175 (2.75 to 1)
Union wins NCAA title: +250 (3.5 to 1)
North Dakota wins NCAA title: +550 (6.5 to 1)

No surprise here .... picked to lose ... gotta love it ;)
