2013-14 Schedules Thread

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

Article in the Wisconsin state jounal stated sources that all Big Ten games will be played Friday-Sunday for this year at least. Hopefully that is the case.

I guess that's not incredibly awful. Certainly not anything near good and it's definitely inconvenient for travel and continuity, but at least it's not weeknights.

Really there aren't too many options. Basketball plays Tuesday-Thursday, plus Saturday. That leaves Friday/Sunday or Sunday/Monday for games. I think BTN is still only broadcasting basketball on Wednesdays though, so I guess that would leave open some other options, but I feel like they won't want to take away from any possible basketball viewership, even if it is on another network. At least from the sounds of it, the first half of the season will be strictly non-con so it will still be Friday/Saturday for pre-Christmas break schedules.

Another possibility is that this is a conference game for BC / Notre Dame.

Hockey East's news release on the Frozen Fenway games said that the BC/Notre Dame game and the Merrimack/Providence game are both league contests.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

I think we can now safely say that Union will be playing Bowling Green and LSSU in October (although we sort of already knew that). Probably Penn State in there as well, and we'll see them play UCONN later in the year.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

Saw a rumor on a PSU board that UMass-Lowell would be visiting Happy Valley this upcoming season.
Coach Bazin has mentioned that PSU would be coming to Lowell during the 2014 season. So Lowell heading to PSU this season would make sense.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

Amazing news! :D I'll keep an eye out for it.

This would mean that Atlantic is the only conference that has not yet released their conference schedule, and would now become the only conference that does not release a composite conference schedule in the timing that the other leagues do. Granted, this is not ENTIRELY true with the ECAC, because the travel partners are required to schedule their games (i.e. the home/home between them) on their own.
