2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Since no one else wants to break down the game, I guess I'll have a whack.
Thanks Seth. Great post, and you saved me from having to find the courage to say something.

Now, for the optimistic view: It feels **** good to be this annoyed with a loss in the NCAA Tournament. How far Quinnipiac hockey has come in just a few short years. That is thanks, in no small part, to this group of players. We thank them for what they've done, while wondering what went wrong tonight.
Knowing what we have coming in over the next couple of seasons will make the summer easier to handle, but also makes it harder to have to wait until October.

Right. Quinnipiac spent the entire game on the perimeter and at the point. Why were they unable to get anything going from the slot, from below the hashmarks, from behind the net? They didn't do the little things. That's what's so frustrating.

PC does that to a team, Maine played them 4 times at the end of the season and spent most of it on the perimeter

Great Season QU. You far exceeded what anyone though possible given your loses last year. You have done yeoman work these past few years helping to elevate ECAC play. Those of us in the ECAC know that you are a much better team. You will be back.

We are in serious danger of losing Bryce. Will be highly sought after. Heard some rumblings before the game yesterday that he could bolt and today it's becoming more mainstream (buccigross tweeted). Hope he stays a year but he could make an impact at the next level and possibly be our first NHL player.
I'm sure JST will be gone in a couple days as well as the Jones'. These guys have transformed our program and while last night was gut wrenching to watch, these player's contributions can never be overstated and it just won't be the same not seeing some of them on the ice next year

Apparently that was discussed more than once during the broadcast yesterday. He's a big kid who clearly has stepped up his game. I remember seeing him for the first time wearing blue & gold and wondering if he would ever play being as slow as he was. Obviously, he has improved his skating ability, many times actually winning races to pucks.

I'll be surprised if they're not. I think Tolks and Hibbs might get looks from the AHL as well. All quality kids who contributed greatly to our overall success. This quote from Connor Jones is right on the money:
Connor Jones said:
When we got to our junior year, everyone bought in. We changed our attitude, we changed the way we thought and we changed the way we train. We really, I think, changed the culture of the program that year.
This team over the last 2 seasons has been vastly different from any other in the previous 7 years since I've been following. Much more cohesive and a total team effort. If that trend continues, this program will continue to prosper.
