2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

2014-15 recruit Landon Smith picked up some BCHL Hardware today.

Vern Dye Memorial Trophy – Most Valuable Player
Brett Hull Trophy – Top Scorer (tie):
Landon Smith, Salmon Arm SilverBacks (43 G, 40 A, 83 points)

Like said a few weeks ago....born to score but his QU coaches won't put up with him
floating at center ice most shifts. He will have to learn he can skate back behind his
own blue line. :-)

Recruit Stats from last night

AJHL

Andrew Taverner had a goal and 2 assists including the game winning goal in OT to lead Sherwood Park to a 6-5 win.
Nelson Gadoury didn't record any stats and Tanner MacMaster didn't play in a 1-0 loss. MacMaster has been in and out of the lineup the past month.

USHS

In the Super 8 MA tournament Springfield Cathedral. DJ Petruzzelli had 2 assists in the 6-3 win over Duxbury. Keith Petruzzelli was the backup. I think Keith Petruzzelli should start the rest of the way especially against Malden Catholic in the semifinals as he already was in net when they beat MC. I just think he has more talent than the senior Johnny Liquori and that Keith has the ability to steal a game against a better team.

Every time you post Keith's stats I'm impressed. Imagine what he'll be doing in 3 years or even 5 if he keeps up the pace. And he will only continue to get taller and take up more and more of the net. I bet he's at least 6'6 when he steps on campus as a true freshman

I think he will definitely get drafted by a QMJHL team so we have to be aware of that possibility but I think its possible he could get an invited to the US team for a tryout for the U-17's eventually. The key will be keeping him away from major juniors. Having DJ Petruzzelli committed though is big a plus in our favor.

Based off what we've all heard about them I don't think they will go major juniors. Their grandparents or someone is from Hamden and yes DJ helps. I don't see a situation where they both don't come but stranger things have happened

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Hello all! It's been a long week up here on the overnight/morning shift. It's been tough keeping up but it looks like I haven't missed much. Hope everyone is doing well. Getting pretty nervous for tomorrow night. I can't have. Maine's season end withe another loss at home. Completely agree with all regarding the rest for JST ... He'll be key next week against Yale, because let's be honest it's only right if QU gets another shot ... Albeit a far less important shot. GO BOBCATS
