Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Chris Heisenberg lists a new recruit for Quinnipiac today. Tanner MacMaster of the Camrose Kodiaks of the AJHL. His page on the AJHL listed him as a Boston College recruit. Looks like he either decommited from BC to come to Quinnipiac or BC didn't want him anymore.
Saw something on Twitter that he first committed to Union and then to Quinnipiac.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

I just went to look for it to post a link and can't find it. It was from Heisenberg and immediately followed by the tweet about committing to Q. Maybe the Union tweet was in error and he deleted it...

He's done that a couple of times on his front page with Quinnipiac recruits. He'll have the guy listed as going to Union under new additions and then have them correctly listed as committed to Q on the actual commit page.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Chris Heisenberg has him going to Quinnipiac now. He looks to have been let out of his LOI.
Yes, that's true. Was just wondering where you folks were coming up with Union.
Did you mean, after BC let him out of LOI, he was first going to Union and then signed with QU?
It is my understanding he'll be at QU.

I have no idea where Union was mentioned. All I saw was Quinnipiac. Just now trying to figure out if he is coming in 2014 or 2015.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Tanner MacMaster's major junior rights belong to the WHL's Spokane Chiefs, drafting him in the first round with the 19th overall pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

I saw a tweet from Heisenberg stating MacMaster committed to Union. About 5 minutes later he followed that by saying MacMaster had committed to QU. At that time I thought the kid had decommitted to Union and we picked him up. When I went back to Twitter later in the day the Union tweet was gone, so I believe Heisenberg may have tweeted that in error and then deleted it.

Or, I was just imagining the whole thing!

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Tanner MacMaster also has USHL rights with the Waterloo Blackhawks if he was going to play another year of junior hockey before coming to QU he could either stay in the AJHL or go to the USHL. Still trying to figure out if he is a 2014 or 2015 recruit but he could come in 2014 depending on if Van Brabant leaves early.

He was committed to BC for next year. If we need to make a spot for him I'm sure they'll make one by having someone stay another year in juniors. Seems he could make immediate impact and could be our highest draft pick ever

Yup....I'd hold back Scott Davidson and Craig Martin in juniors another year in the BCHL. They both could use another season. Same could be said for Nelson Gadoury in the AJHL. I've heard anywhere from the 3rd to 5th round for MacMaster from college hockey writers on twitter.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

FiveHole I'm a Mainer ... Can't see QU and Maine take each other in the tourney. Regular season is one thing but elimination YIKES! Dad would never let us live it down
