good stuff but did we select the best team? i welcome various opinions but do people think there were too many people involved in the process? you get situations like with brian burke as an assistant. he thinks he's always right and could influence others in the decision making process.

Only thing I can think of is that we need a team that can play on big ice. That's different than playing in the NHL.

I HOPE they got it right. Do I think they had some blunders? Yes.

Honestly, long before the rosters were announced, I expected the Canadian and US hockey teams to underachieve in Sochi. Canada has all the skating depth in the world, and Luongo or Price seem like the logical choice in net with their current stats, but do they have a plan for the big ice that will work? USA has an obvious starter in Miller, but not as much skating depth, and then you factor in the big ice. Plus, the US hasn't medaled in hockey at an Olympics held outside of North America since Sapporo in '72.

"So happy Sid Crosby didn't make the US Olympic Team!"

I'm just wondering why Orpik? Last thing we need as an old, slow defenseman on big ice. Against Russia.

I'm kinda surprised that there is little talk about Branden Saad getting left off the roster... I figured that he would have at least been in the conversation...

It's funny reading the comments on TSN. They assume that this US team will get killed and has nobody good on it. Oh Canada...

He was. Reading all the way through that article is pretty interesting. There was talk of Saad instead of Wheeler.

I think the other thing that people aren't taking into account with the roster is that the tournament is being played on the bigger ice. I was just watching LeBrun on ESPN.com saying that it's a problem that all the US scoring is on the wings. And it's like, ok and?

Was that the same person MNS retweeted? I looked for that person....and they don't exist. They either deleted their account due to embarrassment or it's fake.
