He will use the classic "I should have been kicked out of the game after the first incident so the 2nd one should not count" defense. ;)

No sooner said than done. Leafs fans ARE hilarious.
From the comments section in the NHL.com recap:

For all you who are suggesting the Kadri hit on Granlund should not be a suspension. Look at the replay again. True, granlund was looking down in an effort to dig the puck out from his skates and start to move. However, if you look closely at the replay, kadri left the ice with his skates and led with his upper body to the head of Granlund. Kadri should have had the match penalty for the Backstrom hit, then he wouldn't have gotten an additional and greater suspension for the Granlund hit. I guarantee you he will be suspended because both hits were to the head, and both hits were completely unnecessary and idiotic by the player. Shanny will give him a 5 game suspension minimum, possibly 10. But we'll see won't we?

Probably trying to convince a ticket agent to accept food stamps as payment for Bruins tickets.

Oh that's so funny. I'd pass this off as a joke except you're not the first person to insinuate I'm on food stamps so let me clear this up. I'm not on government assistance. I get disability from Social Security and I also have PRIVATE INSURANCE that kicks in to keep me comfortable. Not as comfortable as I would be at my old job but better off than a lot of people. Thanks for caring.

As for the hit last night, he goes beyond what John Scott did. However, if the Sabres want to keep wasting a roster spot on a goon like Scott and languish in last place, even better for the rest of the league. He obviously isn't helping them win.

Kari Lehtonen sat on his net last night in the waning seconds of the Stars/Flames game.

As expected, Twitter broke out into the usual polar opposite reactions. "HAHA That's awesome!" and "He needs to be fined for disrespecting the game!"

I'm just glad to see he didn't pull his groin getting up there. :p

Also nice to see him do that again, he stopped for a while after doing it a few times with the Thrashers.

Hawks get Versteeg back for a couple of minor leaguers who are good but would never crack the big club's lineup.

If he can play anywhere near as well as he did in 2010, this is a great deal for the Hawks. A third line of Bickell-Shaw-Versteeg is arguably better than many teams' 2nd lines.

Happy Friday to Hawks fans everywhere! :)

Is anyone in the world happier today than Kris Versteeg? From the Panthers back to the Hawks?

Although south Florida was probably fun off the ice....

I think the Hawks came out on top in this deal... Versteeg is a player who goes out and does what needs to be done... I'm welcoming him back...

I'm sure the Hawks party down in Nashville will give him a proper welcome back on Saturday :D

Re: 2013-14 NHL Season - With a Wing and a Fehr

Both Jimmy Hayes and Dylan Olsen are expected to be in San Antonio's lineup Saturday night (pending callups). Against their old teammates, the Rockford Icehogs.

That won't be awkward.

I think the Hawks came out on top in this deal...

Panthers are picking up half his salary for the remainder of his contract too. He's only costing us 2.2 per.

As long as he can stay healthy, should be a steal. :)

Well, the Hawks are playing awesome defense

I totally blame this on Khabi
