The girlfriend of Semyon Varlamov, starting goaltender for the Colorado Avalanche, told Denver police he kicked her, knocked her down, dragged her by her hair and told her in Russian that "if this were Russia, he would have beat her more," according to police and court documents released Thursday.
The judge set his bond at $5,000. Varlamov was given permission to travel, and a restraining order was imposed. Court records show bond was posted by noon.

I don't blame Holtby for getting out of Dodge. Emery didn't need to rabbit-punch and thuggish on him. Downie looks like he'll fit in nicely.

Emery went too far. Should have stopped once Holtby went down.

Holtby seemed fine though.

In a related story, Vancouver police have issued a warrant against Team USA goaltending candidate Jonathan Quick. Allegation is that he stole a playoff series a while back. "We want to ensure he doesn't steal an Olympic medal", said a spokesman.

Sabres put Pat Kaleta on waivers. GM says "he has to change his game to stay in the NHL." Guess he has to play more like John Scott.

Jets fans are LOUD.

Really into the game against the Hawks including booing Kane and Toews (hometown boy who brought the Cup there both times) whenever they touch the puck.
