Re: 2013-14 NHL Season - With a Wing and a Fehr

Does anyone have 2013-14 Gamecenter for a mobile device? I have an android and when I asked the NHL they replied "we're working on it". Sounds like the Chiefs' power play.

Edit: Update just arrived in MyApps. Amazing. Now to see of if actually works.

The NHL starts and the US government shuts down. This has to be Bettman's fault somehow.

Anyone know if the AppleTV NHL app has been updated for the new season? Would like to get GCL this year.

Kessel to sign extension - 8 years @ $8M per.

Go Leafs Go!!! :D

There is no question Kessel has developed into an elite scorer in the NHL. In the past two years only Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers have more points than Kessel’s 119. And, since being acquired from the Boston Bruins Sept. 18, 2009, only six players have more goals than Kessel’s 119.

So it really comes as no surprise that Kessel is on the verge of signing a new contract that will reportedly run for eight years and pay him $64 million US.

That said, for that kind of dough, Kessel had better ramp up his production even higher. Kessel has never hit the 40-goal plateau. Two years ago he tallied a career-best 37 goals, but dipped to a 34-goal pace in a lockout-shortened season last year.

Kessel did, however, have an excellent playoff leading the Maple Leafs with four goals (two game-winners) and six points in seven games.

The contract includes a limited no-trade clause, a source told The Canadian Press. Kessel had one season left on his previous deal at $5.4 million.

It's game day.

And I can't embed a photo of the ice crew...

Thanks Board.

My day might have been ruined, but I'll take solace in getting to watch a banner raising. ;)

GO HAWKS!!

ESPN NHL Predictions

Burnside sure has a hard-on for Phoenix. He has them as the Cup winners, Oliver Ekman-Larsson to win the Norris, Mike Smith to win Vezina, and Dave Tippet to win Jack Adams.....

Not in the article...Melrose predicts two 60 goal scorers this year. Stamkos and Ovechkin.

Well this banner ceremony is a little indulgent.

Plus the music is making me feel like I'm watching the credits for Ocarina of Time. Except this feels a lot longer.

I agreed with Don Cherry about Scott "vs" Kessel...? *gasp*

Scott should've gone after a bigger guy. Which doesn't excuse anything Kessel did (though Cherry interestingly ignored this, even though Phil is an American and Scott is one of his Good Ol' Western Canadians).

Parros hits the ice HARD face-first. Tried to get up, clearly couldn't tell where the hell he was.
