Outshot them 39-16, but the Lightning have a 2 minute flurry and eventually win in a shootout.

Hawks looked dominant though... just didn't finish enough opportunities. Happy with their start.

Bishop had a monster game. Remember him from the 2006 Frozen Four.

Oh, and thanks Edmonton & Phoenix for not being competitive tonight and forcing me to turn to the Stanford/Washington game.


I'm a little concerned that Torts may have been just what the Canucks needed. He'll probably have a short shelf life ala Keenan back in the day, but he may do some damage in the short run.

Vancouver can never win a Cup. Just sayin'.

Seriously.

Fastest firing in NHL to start a season. Also, Chip Kelly is the longest tenured pro sports coach in Philly.

Pretty good run though for the city..

I'm a firm believer they need to can the GM before they get a coach who can win.

Even Savard got 4 games before they canned him in favor of Q.

Holmgren is definitely one of the worst GMs in the NHL. Even though they went to the Final, the Flyers should have canned him when he signed Pronger to that horrible 35+ deal that he didn't even know was a 35+ deal until it was too late.

Let's see... Holmrgren traded Richards, Carter, and Van Riemsdyk..Signed and bought out Bryzgalov.. I mean just brutal.

I'm sure the Flyers will play disciplined, sportsmanlike, clean hockey with noted gentleman Craig Berube at the helm.
