2013-14 D-I Schedules

Re: 2013-14 D-I Schedules

Last year BC and BU played all three games they would play against each other -- all three -- within the first 29 days of the season.

Ridiculous.

Re: 2013-14 D-I Schedules

Also, BC's schedule isn't out yet but our out-of-conference this year is Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Quinnipiac, Cornell x2, and St. Lawrence x2.

Pretty standard fare.

It seems like every year in HE one of the series is completed in a short period of time. It certainly makes a difference if a key player is injured.

Consolidated Hockey East schedule here:

The BC and BU schedules haven't been officially released, so I (newbie) don't know how set in stone those parts of the HE schedule are, but assuming it's true they've perhaps overcompensated for last year and put two of the three BC / BU games on the last two days of the season. If it pays off it'll be an exciting couple of days. Providence look well placed to challenge, as they are retaining a lot of goal-scoring players from last year. Their last BC game is Feb 1, the last BU game is Feb 16th.

The HE site as a whole has undergone a minor redesign which I think is for the better: everything looks a little cleaner.

Re: 2013-14 D-I Schedules

It's a shame that Minnesota has so few non-conference games, and those (with due respect to Princeton et al) not against top flight opposition. Would love to see them do a trip east and take in Harvard / BC / BU. It'll make Nationals all the harder to predict this year.

WCHA teams play more Conference games than others (IIRC 28, vs 20-22 for others), hence the limited amount of NC games. Having said that, number of NC games for Ivies is limited as well due to a later start.

Re: 2013-14 D-I Schedules

With the limitations on NC opportunities imposed by the various conference schedules...I like the arrangement of a four team gathering as is scheduled by NU, BU, UW...and SCSU is it? In Colorado for 2013-2014. Not necessarily at remote sites but at one host site or another, east or west at, or in close proximity to one participant or another. More of this type of event would be good I believe. Make use of one NC weekend to involve four teams etc.

It should be noted that Minnesota and Harvard played a series each Thanksgiving weekend from 2008-2011, alternating rinks each year. It is my understanding that it was Harvard that ended the series, but that comes through channels sufficiently muddled (including that I can't remember exactly who told me that) that I don't make a very strong claim to its accuracy.

Re: 2013-14 D-I Schedules

Times finalized for the Minnesota at Wisconsin series in February:

- Friday, February 14 at 7 p.m.
