Who cares how much people gave to charity...giving money to write it off your taxes (or for religious reasons) doesnt make anyone a great man. It certainly doesnt make them qualified to run for president.

It's all about charity. Charity has solved hunger, poverty, and disease already. More so than any tax ever has.

It doesn't make you a bad man, or disqualify you from running for President, either. Unless, of course, there's so much pride about you that you couldn't stand someone not giving to the location of your choice.

If you are a tax cheat, though, it qualifies you to become Secretary of the Treasury. ;)

RCP NTU moves NC to Obama. EV are now 347-191. If correct, the election would be exactly the same as 2008 except for IN and NE-2.

I didnt say it made him a bad man just that it is meaningless to discuss it because it means zero. If Obama gave 10 million last year to charity would you all of a sudden support his candidacy?

Giving to charity is good. Being nice to the family dog is good. It doesn't affect my view of the candidate's stance on issues, though.
