Who cares how much people gave to charity...giving money to write it off your taxes (or for religious reasons) doesnt make anyone a great man. It certainly doesnt make them qualified to run for president.

It's all about charity. Charity has solved hunger, poverty, and disease already. More so than any tax ever has.

True. I recall seeing a study came out, what, a few months ago, and found that most of the states where residents on average gave the highest percentage of their income to charity tended Republican, while most that gave the least tended Democrat.
That just means Democrats who live near Republicans give far more than their share because they know their neighbors are *******s. :)

Uh, you do realize you only write off a small part of it on our taxes?

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part II -- Charlotte, a National Treasure or sede vaca

And I saw a study that came out that Blue States receive less Federal Tax Money back from the Government than Red States. What's your point?
Those are both interesting studies. What's your point?

It doesn't make you a bad man, or disqualify you from running for President, either. Unless, of course, there's so much pride about you that you couldn't stand someone not giving to the location of your choice.

If you are a tax cheat, though, it qualifies you to become Secretary of the Treasury. ;)

RCP NTU moves NC to Obama. EV are now 347-191. If correct, the election would be exactly the same as 2008 except for IN and NE-2.

Sure you can. Just like you can divide by zero. I understand the difference just fine. Also the argument works the other way. Basically your argument is if someone making 50,000 a year pays 5,000 in taxes and Mitt makes 26 million dollars a year and pays 10,000 in taxes Mitt has met his tax obligation.

That's BS, and you know it.

Of course he does, but then in the post before he indicated that he wasn't a shill for Mittens. He just happens to agree with his positions on almost every issue, but thats purely coincidental.

Yesterday on Meet The Press, Bay Buchanan claimed Romney has been serving people for years. Turns out that Mitt is short for “Kanamit” and the ultimate plutocrat's secret plan to serve the American people is.. is.. is...a.. cookbook!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ne5eP0OAsTs :D:D

Umm you do realize you completely missed the point of my post?

Go back to yelling at the illegals to get off your lawn :D

I didnt say it made him a bad man just that it is meaningless to discuss it because it means zero. If Obama gave 10 million last year to charity would you all of a sudden support his candidacy?

Giving to charity is good. Being nice to the family dog is good. It doesn't affect my view of the candidate's stance on issues, though.

How about the husband wanting the wife to be able to open windows on the plane?

Believe me, there have been times when I wished my wife could open the window on her plane...

I think that's the first thing you've said in this thread that makes sense.

Q: You say that the rich should "pay their 'fair' share." How much is that?

-- more!

Q: Okay, how much "more"?

-- MORE more!!

Q: and how much is that, exactly?

Ah, yes, I see. and when you notice that some of the rich give away everything, then you say....

-- That's not enough! we want even more than that!

Q: so 'more' is never 'enough'?

-- Yes, now you understand us!

Okay, thanks for the clarification.
