I only assess you by what you say on here and interact with me on, and in those cases you always (to the best of my recollection) stake out quite liberal positions and support politicians who push those positions. Show me otherwise. I'm not some newb you can dupe. I've seen your postings for a good many years. It's not becoming to pretend your something you're not. I'll lay off though. It's obvious I hit a nerve.

No, you are making the mistake of putting yourself at the center of the ruler. I would say Handy and/or LynahFan are about the closest thing we have here to centrists, give or take an inch. FlagDude and some of his brethren are getting a few more inches to the right. FF is whatever Drudge tells him to be that morning. You are about 3 feet to the right, but perhaps because Pio is 37 miles to the right you see yourself as centrist.

Why would I care wha a Newb or some crusty old dude in bumbphuck, Arizona thought...it isnt becoming to speak about stuff you dont know about. We dont agree socially because I dont take my laws from the Bible. (also, I find it funny that conservatives poke their nose into social issues at all since it is none of their business what private citizens do...funny how the GOP loves Big Government when it is about their issues) You have never read one thing I ever posted about the economy though and it is blatantly obvious. Just like whenever you see a Scooby post you just assume what it says you do the same to me which is why we all catch you on your bs "observations" all the time. You assume I am some tax and spend liberal out to socialize everything and pay for nothing. That would be true if I didnt want to cut pretty much everything under the sun. (Military, Department of Ed, Homeland Security) Also I want massive Welfare Reform, Tort Reform up the yin yang, Social Security reform amongst a bunch of other spending cuts. I also want everyone above the poverty level to start paying their share as well not just take it all from the rich.

All of these things I have said multiple times in the past year, and you are either illiterate or willfully blind...either way I dont care you arent worth the effort. (your ability to "discuss" things went away long ago) You go on living in your ****ed off little world scared that the big bad boogey man is gonna get ya. You and Old Pio can have a blast talking about the good ole days when women werent allowed to have an opinion and the ****ed Commies were everywhere!! The rest of us in the real world will do just fine without ya.

I'd expect such an analysis from someone far down the ruler on the liberal side of things. I've never seen (that I recall), Handy present arguments in favor of conservative views, but have seen him time and again argue at great length in favor of liberal perspectives. I can't pretend that I see something different than what I see.

Maybe what we need here is for His Racistness to create a special commission to investigate what's wrong with conservatives, and why the left (including, of course, the MSM) uses words like "far," "extreme," "hard" and "ultra" to describe them. But for some odd reason, similar verbiage is rarely used to describe liberals. There are other matters the commission could investigate as well.

Given the senstive mission of this commissin, I'd recommend Henry Waxman, Gerry Nadler and Ron Dellums as co-chairs. Fair, blanced, and above all centrist.

It's harder to be a centrist these days because of how far to the right the right has gone. The middle is nowhere near where it once was and to remain in the middle, you'd have to stagger to the right.

Exactly. The new middle for any conservative is about a 25% past what the center used to be. That's why all these conservatives think us folks who are slightly left of center are all liberal moonbats, when in fact we're not.

They spit on the returning soldiers, they told the communists where our troops were in the Vietnam War, they saw pink where conservatives saw red, they wanted God out of the public square. I could go on, just as you can go on with the perceived excesses of the right.

If you were conservative and saw this happening to this country, you want to put the brakes on the "reforms". If your dander was up, you'd want to fight back. And because the left is, in your opinion, changing what is fundamental to be the USA, you possibly got angry. Change may be necessary, but let's talk about it, get a consensus, and implement. But don't ram it down our collective throats.

Everyone is in a hurry to implement "change". Why rush? If it's good, then it will happen. Maybe not tomorrow, but a few years from now. If it "seemed to be a good idea at the time, but not anymore," then it will die a natural death before anything happens

So now that one side has gone aways over there, and the other side and gone way over here, the DMZ is not a safe place to be. The left and the right have fundamental disagreements on the role of the federal government. This is what, I hope, this election is about. The electorate will make their decision and we'll see what happens.

If anything, I've come closer to the centre than I was previously. I don't intend on giving up the views I have any time soon (we know how likely that is), but I think one big difference is that I can actually hop out and see the bird's eye view. How does a position affect ALL parties involved, not just me, or an end user? Obviously my biggest motivational topics are protecting the individual liberties of American citizens, protecting free enterprise and the practice by American citizens thereof, and assuring the responsibility by American citizens of holding those privileges. In my opinion, Obama doesn't believe in any of those (and if he does, the execution sucks). Romney may believe in #2, but I seriously question his belief in #1 and #3, which is why I don't want to vote for him, either. To me, the libertarian candidate Gary Johnson believes in all three, which is why he gets my vote.

To avoid the RINO tag you need to have righty views on some major topics. I can't think of any examples currently in office, so you may be correct about that one. The way I see it is you have core beliefs that are relatively hard right, but some issues can drift left and still be considered a conservative. For me personally the line is between fiscal and social issues. You want to drift left on social stuff, that's okay with me to still call yourself a conservative as long as you don't go hard core lefty. If my reps don't see it that way, they will not get my vote.
