2012 Poster Cruise....

Re: 2012 Poster Cruise....

Well, I'm still trying to figure out if I can go on this cruise. Boyfriend is too cheap and my other friend can't go. My parents are split on if they'd like to go.

Not to judge your boyfriend, but IMHO, cruising is a very good deal. On this cruise- call it $700 pp. Or even call it $1500 per room. While not cheap, if you add up food and lodging, $300/night is not a horrible deal. And you can eat all you want.

(I just did a sample booking- cheapest inside from MI (yes, state matters for some reason) for 2 $1353. Balconies are a few hundred more, but that's not bad)

I do admit that this isn't the cheapest cruise that one can find- we did a 3 night for $150pp- but those are getting hard to find.

if your budget is just able to camp, or do motel 6 + McDs, yea- this is expensive. But typical hotels + food, eh- it's close. And the hotel does not carry you to places that you don't have to spend anything to check out.

Hope you can make it!

Do it.
/voice of reason ;)

Hey, alfa...
Do you know how long the jogging track is and/or how many laps around the boat would equal a kilometer or a mile? I've got a thing I have to do on the Sunday.
If you don't know, that's okay; we'll figure it out on board.

Looks like that class of ship (Radience class), the jogging track is 5 laps per mile. The info I found was for the Jewel's sister, the Serenade.

We may see you up there. BTW, we do need to exchange some info- would love to meet up with you all on board. Shoot me an e-mail.

wT, find a way to get on the ship.

Re: 2012 Poster Cruise....

Sadly, the cruise cost is not the issue, it's the transportation for getting to Orlando. Looks like airfare is the same price as the cruise. Cheapest I can find with changing dates and even looking at nearby airports is $750. I may be skipping the Frozen Four altogether. :(

holy cow!

Not that it helps much, but Delta has Thursday 3/29 to Monday 4/9 (way over a week) for $476.... That's from detroit to Tampa...

Probably doesn't help much that the FF is over Easter weekend.

Re: 2012 Poster Cruise....

We're meeting in Chicago; got flights for ~$320 rt each.
It works for us.
Your mileage may vary.

Re: 2012 Poster Cruise....

Probably not much of a point to bump this, since most have plans set in stone already.

But there is a sale for this cruise now!! http://www.royalcaribbean.com/finda...&state=&packageCode=JW05W010&sailDate=1120331

You can get an outside cabin for $469 or a balcony for $519 per person. This is less than what I paid for (and I can't get a discount, since we are well within the 4 week window for super hot sales and last payment, but I'm ok with that)...

I have a RCCL agent that will be very happy to help, or if you have a travel agent you like, or ANY other website that sells cruises- think about it.

You can get me at alfablue(dot)uscho(at)gmail(dot)com (I'll check e-mail for sure later this evening).

I know melmac isn't going to be dining with us, but we have 4 that are dining at the later seating, and would be happy to dine with you.

19 days until we board! :)

I tried linking but, since we're doing the my time thing, it wouldn't let me. Is there anything else I can do to help you get credit? I've still got your reservation number. And if we decided to dine at 8:30, is it hard to try to sit together or near each other? Never done this, don't know how it works.

I am so looking forward to this trip. I really need to get away from reality for a little bit.

I just e-mailed you with the last e-mail that I had of yours, a yahoo one.

As for dining near each other- I doubt we will be able to, unless we book something at one of the alternate restaurants- the my time area *might* be near our table, but it's a pretty big dining section. If your e-mail is right, I'll shoot you a note once we know our table number- it wont change.

Actually- if the e-mail is right, I'll e-mail you with our cabin number, too- so you can call and leave a message.

Prices keep coming down for the trip- not much, but a little- $419 for outside and $499 for balcony. 12 days to go.
