Re: 2012 NFL Season - I dare Priceless to nuke me
I had the pick of the century last year when I got Cam Newton as the absolute last pick in the draft for $1.
Edit: WAIT, $70 for a single player?!?!
That's a steal on Cam.
And yes, Brady went for $70 last year in my league. Again, $260 budget. Elite players usually don't go for less than $50. Top RB's used to go for $80-$90, now they tend to fall around $60. WR's are usually the high guys these days, as we do PPR and 5+ bonus points for a 100 yard game.
TE's are also very valuable, as we do 2 points per 15 yards, PPR, and 3+ bonus points over 90 yards. I would be shocked if Gronk goes for less than $60 this year.
FYI, here was my team on offense, and their dollar amounts for last year's draft:
Vick (41) * I mis-remembered, he only went for 41.
AP (59)
McFadden (36)
Calvin Johnson (45)
Wallace (28)
Austin (52)
Keller (1)
I went high budget on WR and RB. Got a solid QB, and then bargain basement on TE, K, 6 IDB starters, and a full bench of backups. 17 players for something like $35.
Free Agent buys are either the dollar amount they were drafted for, or $5. No FA buys or trades after Week 10.
Last year I ended up dropping Austin after his injury, and benching DMF and AP. I picked up Reggie Bush and CJ Spiller, along with Gafney and Heyward-Bey. I went 4 weeks without a QB (backup was Cutler). Backed into the playoffs needing help.
Then won the whole **** thing as Vick came back, and Bush and Spiller absolutely dominated.
