2012 NFL Season volumn 2 - the playoff push or wait until next year boogaloo.

Re: 2012 NFL Season volumn 2 - the playoff push or wait until next year boogaloo.

Interesting rule change being pondered by Goodell concerning kickoff safety.

Instead of kickoffs, give the kicking team 4th and 15 at their own 30 and let them punt or go for it.
I'm not sure I get how that's safer. The risk of injuries during kickoffs is because of the high-speed collisions between blockers and tacklers who've gotten a running start, right? Isn't that also a risk with punts?

Per Goodell there's still a risk, but supposedly it's not as catastrophic a risk as with kickoffs where everyone drops their head at full speed. Punting out of bounds would be feasible and avoid problems altogether. Plus no more onside kicks, just convert the 4th and 15.

The big issue I'm seeing brought up is pass interference or holding on the defense - too easy to hand the kicking team an automatic first down.

Re: 2012 NFL Season volumn 2 - the playoff push or wait until next year boogaloo.

So if you rough the kicker on this new deal, does the kicking team automatically get the ball back?

LOL -my brother worked on that show!! I just sent him the link to see if he remembered that episode. :)

WCHA referee Max Battimo was a minor character on Good Morning Miss Bliss, which is the show that NBC evolved into Saved by the Bell.

I don't understand what is happening on my TV right now.

Apparently it is now illegal to hit Matt Forte if he is thinking about stepping out of bounds in the next 20 yards.

Re: 2012 NFL Season volumn 2 - the playoff push or wait until next year boogaloo.

It is also illegal to go low and hit a QB in the head when it is impossible to avoid doing so due to the position the QB has put himself in.

It seems to be illegal to his a QB anywhere but the numbers in front with the rules they have now.

Subscribed because every time I watch an NFL game I hate it a little more.

If anyone thinks HOU is gonna win tonight, can I have some of what you're smoking?

I have always liked the HOU franchise, solid franchise, but no way they win tonight.
