2012 NCAA Selection Show: March 4th

Re: 2012 NCAA Selection Show: March 4th

Not really any surprise here. I dont remember there being this many teams with 20 or more wins in a season.

The selection process is always interesting as to where they send teams, but I think they did a good job and will hopfully save the NCAA some money. I do hope some of the UMD players stick around to support the tournament.

Brooky, thats kinda rough on UMD. Since the Gophs are behind by 3 National Championships and HAVE NOT WON on their home ice, which we have WON TWICE on their home ice. But we like WI 2 years ago are giving others a chance to win a title. Here's your chance, catch up a little. Frost needs his own Title with the talent he has...he is behind the curve and Haldo for that matter.

Either way, Pulling for the only leauge to hold the title;)

It's an opportune time for coach Frost and his team to "catch up a little." I can't predict it'll happen, but I don't think you can compare winning titles during the tenure of former coach Halldorson to what I feel is a more difficult proposition in D-I today. My belief it was not quite the monumental challenge to win the title in the very early NCAA years as it presently is would apply to another coach as well. Just as your observation on twenty win teams quantity might suggest.

Typically I just savor the trophies Minnesota does have while not anguishing over what I guess you would call a deficit, but missing those opportunities stings a little, no question.

As for roughness, sorry, that's what you get sometimes from a long time hard core fan of the men. At least I didn't start a "Minnesota Duluth Off Season" thread like a Bulldog fan once did mere seconds after the Gophers were eliminated...complete with a harsh, contemptuous first post and uncontrolled associated giddiness.
