I'd guess it's all in the upbringing. The kid's been held up as a walking god ever since high school all the way through college. He's probably not heard the word no since ninth grade.

Breaking into a home and assaulting a PO...JFC.

Thanks for saying this. I don't necessarily buy the story about "hits to the head" in football being at fault, but it's clear that he has a serious mental illness and it cost him a very lucrative football career and probably some jail time already. No need to pile on - the kid needs help.
