The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
It was very close (1 point). Each of the top 3 (BC/UMN/UND) have had a disappointing loss where they did not play up to their potential, so it should be of little surprise that they revert to their preseason rankings. This weekend will be a test for BC, and if they win both they should remain atop the polls. If they falter, Minnesota will likely regain the top spot, unless the Gophers lose to Canisius...which would be very surprising.

I understand where you are coming from. Tech is a very good team, and they will challenge for home ice. Typically you can win the MacNaughton by sweeping at home and splitting on the road (especially against the top 1/2 to 2/3 of the conference). Minnesota is right on track if that is the barometer. While I know most Gopher fans were very surprised at the result on Friday, the bigger picture (as you point out) has not been painted just yet.
I can remember one game last season where UND played Tech and they were difficult to play against and a tie felt like a loss, meaning they were very good and UND was lucky to get the tie. Pearson is a good coach and I expect MTU to be just as hard to play against this season as well. I had them at 6th and they ended up in the Web Media Poll.
