You wish, this one's going to the Mavs!

See you at the game!

Re: 2012-2013 Bemidji State Beavers: We Are Staying Put

We will see. BSU is hoping it just moved over to Walsh's locker. Walsh did stop 63 of 64 last weekend against Lake Superior State.

He and Clarke Saunders, now of North Dakota, are probably two of the best goalies I have ever seen play against UNO.

Now after facing Saunders 4 times, already, with UAH, it looks like we are gonna get at least 6 more doses of him over the next two seasons, assuming the Fighting Sio...........er whatever they are calling themselves these days, have the sense to keep him as the starting goalie.

Re: 2012-2013 Bemidji State Beavers: We Are Staying Put

BSU has gotten another verbal. Jason Ford, F, Janesville Jets (NAHL). The 6'0", 180 lb., Waunakee, WI native has a line of 16 GP, 9G-6A-15 Pts., 6 PIM +7. Last year in the Wisconsin High School League, he played in 27 games and amassed 103 points (52G-51A).

His dad played at Wisconsin and he has a brother that has committed to Wisconsin.

Re: 2012-2013 Bemidji State Beavers: We Are Staying Put

Posted this over in the UAH thread. It is in response to UAH getting into the WCHA and then having two five team divisions. Do you set the division up based on geography or rivalries?

----------------
I love the two, five team divisions set up.

-Play everyone in your division four times for 16 games.
-Play everyone in the other division twice for 10 games.
-One Alaska school in each division for 2 extra games, which leaves room for 10 nonconference games, 12 if you happen to have to go to both Alaska schools in one year.

Divisions? Hmmm.... I would think Tech, Northern and Lake State would want to be in the same divisions. BSU has a history with Mankato and UAH. I don't know enough about the histories of Ferris, Bowling Green, Anchorage and Fairbanks to make a good decision. Bowling Green with UAH for "proximity" which would put Ferris with the UP schools? Do any of the teams have a "rivalry" with either of the Alaska schools that would make division placement interesting?

Re: 2012-2013 Bemidji State Beavers: We Are Staying Put

Here are a couple of interesting facts that I have heard here lately:

-Jordan George is the only active player in the NCAA that has 50 goals in his career.

-The BSU coaching staff is the longest tenured staff in NCAA hockey. They have been together for 10 years now. Every other staff in College Hockey has had some turnover in that time.

Re: 2012-2013 Bemidji State Beavers: We Are Staying Put

-Jordan George is the only active player in the NCAA that has 50 goals in his career.

That's crazy, you'd think some Atlantic or ECAC or other conference where they don't play D and the goalies are all sieves would have done it. :D

Ben Hanowski may have joined him by now if he hadn't gotten a concussion; he has missed 5 games and is sitting at 48 goals. Of course he didn't get the benefit of playing in the CHA for a year to pad those stats. :)

Re: 2012-2013 Bemidji State Beavers: We Are Staying Put

While I am a UND fan first and foremost, I'm also a BSU fan(able to watch all home games here in Minot, ND on Lakeland PBS). So I was quite happy to see in the Grand Forks Herald that UND and BSU will continue playing each other after the conference shuffle starting right away next year with a home-and-home series.
