BSU has garnered another verbal. Charlie O'Connor, F, Chicago Steel (USHL). 6'0", 185 pounds from Elk Grove Village, IL. Last year in 58 games, he had 10g, 19a, 29 Pts. and 45 penalty minutes. He will be with the Steel this year as well.

I spent a week this summer kayaking the Mississippi and started where it empties out of Bemidji Lake. I was able to see the new rink for the first time and was very impressed. However, traffic was difficult for even a summer weekday afternoon. Is it normally an issue on game night?

It isn't too bad if you know how to use the round abouts and know how the turn lanes are set up. My biggest gripe is at the people who don't allow cars to "shuffle" into line. The get in line and there is no da** way they are letting anyone else in.

I believe it was him that I heard gave up hockey last year to concentrate on his golf career. From what I heard, he is pretty good and has a shot at playing on one/several of the pro tours.

Regional coverage again this year for the Beavers, at least for their home games! I love the fact that I can get the games in HD with just a simple $8 set of rabbit ears here in the Alexandria area!

From the article:

"All games will be broadcast live locally in high definition on Lakeland’s Primary channel, Lakeland Prime, while the feed will be distributed regionally in standard definition on the Minnesota Channel—a collaborative effort of all Minnesota’s Public Television stations.

The agreement will continue to make BSU hockey live statewide over the air, on Dish Network, DirecTV and on virtually every cable system across Minnesota. In addition, the Minnesota Channel provides statewide coverage in North Dakota and portions of Wisconsin and South Dakota.

This partnership will allow BSU hockey to reach a potential audience of over 5.5 million people each broadcast."

Looks like former Beaver Darcy Findlay has signed with the Cornwall Riverkings of the LNAH (NAHL), a league centered out of Quebec. I can't tell if this is a pro league or more of a "semi-pro" league. Looking at it a little bit, it looks like it is mostly a fighting league with a little bit of hockey thrown in.

I don't know. I know it is on DirecTV if you are part of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Market. I know here in Alexandria, it is channel 22 on DirecTV. It also comes through occasionally on 17 and 17-1 on DirecTV, which are part of the Minnesota Channels.

Grand Forks has got to be close enough to a Minnesota PBS station that you could pull this in with rabbit ears, isn't it? I just use an $8 set I got from Menards to pull in the Lakeland HD feed. The DirecTV channels and the Minnesota Channel are just SD feeds.

Who can we look for to break out for the Beaver's this year? As the only draft pick on the team, is this the year that Radoslav Illo breaks out offensively? Who takes over for Hunt as the powerplay QB? Rendle or Prapavessis? Any freshmen that should make a significant impact?
