Harvard defeats Quinnipiac in Hamden 2-0. Looked like a fairly even game for two periods, then the Lady Bobcats really poured it on in the third but the Crimson hung on. Mary Parker with her first two varsity points on assists tonight.

Excerpt: "In seven of the first nine years Jeremiah was at the coaching helm, the Indians won the Pentagonal League Championship"....

The Indians ?.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Interesting and thanks for sharing. This tidbit reminds me of the great Conan speech last year at Dartmouth where he made some humorous references to the olden day's at Dartmouth. One reference was about the "Selection of Green" as the schools color and Conan's take on it was some like this. "So how did they come up with the Color Green. Well, All other colors were taken, so Green it was. How pathetic is that". insert laughter here

Many, however, prefer Darty's other unofficial mascot.

Ohio state 8 Bemidji state 1 early in the second period. Altho the beavers are skating hard this is NOT the same team without Tomcat.
Goals spread throughout the entire buckeye team!

didn't mean it like that... just meant no one line or player getting all the goals.. even some D getting in the action.
So here's what I have goals from Langan, Svedin, Hollowell, Kuehl with 2, Moylan (her first as a young buck) S Schmitt and Gagne. Also Kostenko for the Beavers.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

Dartmouth 'smoked' at Quinnipiac', 8-3. No Holdcroft (goal). Not sure if injury.

Ouch.

Dartmouth was Moore's Indian School in Ledyard, CT, originally. Eleazer Wheelock, founder and active in 'education' of native people (principally, then- attempting to westernize native indigenous people). He received support from (Lord) Dartmouth and moved school to Hanover, NH. Such as Mohawk (one of the original five nations that made, make-up the Iroquois Federation, League: Haudenosaunee), Joseph Brandt, others...

You want 'smoked'?? How about what happened in New Jersey and I'm not talking about Hurricane Sandy. Harvard put the wood to the Tigers in a big way. See what happens when you come from behind to beat our football team?? We don't take kindly to that sort of upset.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

End of the 1st period... Providence 1, St. Cloud State 0. The Friars got the first 11 shots on goal of the game with help from 4 Husky penalties, and the period ended with the shots being 13-5. Nicole Anderson scored on the power play.

St. Cloud will start the 2nd period will a full two-minute power play opportunity due to a Providence penalty at the horn.

EDIT: The live box score shows the Friars being 1-for-4 on the power play after the first period... I believe it should be 1-for-5 based on my interpretation of the NCAA rule book. The Friar goal came on a delayed penalty, ending the third power play but starting the fourth -- not wiping out the fourth.

That sounds right because a goal on a delayed penalty doesn't count out fortcoming penalty in NCAA.

Now end of the second. 2-1 Friars.

St. Cloud State appeared to come out shooting (based on how the live stats were reading) and tied the game 1-1 on a goal by Callie Dahl, but Corinne Buie put Providence back ahead later in the period. Shots were 12-8 for the Huskies in the period, but Providence still maintains a 21-17 advantage for the game.

Re: 2012-13 D1 Scores and Results

FINAL: Providence 4, St. Cloud State 2 -- Nicole Anderson scored her second of the game to give Providence a 3-1 lead. Abby Ness cut it to 3-2 with a Husky power play goal, but Anderson completed her hat trick with an empty-net tally.

Final shots on goal were 32-24 for Providence.
