2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

I tried to hop the boards and started falling backwards....I started laughing and barely caught myself. It would have been great video. :D

Thanks again goldy....GREAT JOB!

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

We would get him an electronic device to help, if we could. Teachers won't let him get it out during class to record his assignments and after class he's already forgotten what he was supposed to record. He has a dumb phone, but most of his friends have them.

Sorry I missed Sean's accrobatic display.
I assume from the pictures that goldy jr. is in high school? We had assignment books that we used during class to record assignments. It had each class going down the left coloumn and each day of the week with the date going across the top so that it formed a table - 1 week spanned 2 pages. The notebook had the entire school calendar in it. We just wrote down assignments in the notebook when they were assigned. Some of the more organzied students would write a reminder note the week before the assignment was due to give them some lead time to get started.

We went through a similar phase with both kids (one of each gender) at the same age. Forgetting books/worksheets in their lockers, not writing stuff down, etc. Both came through it fine and now very rarely forget an assingment. Getting to that point is a painful process took a lot of patience and constant reminding to check their assignment book before the left for the day.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

We get these planners here. They're set up terrifically, but hardly any of us use them..which is actually pretty unfortunate, as they can be a great and almost essential tool to being organized.

no worries goldy, he's a hockey player, he'll get through it.;)

Haha that was awesome :)

Sean you looked like Humpty Dumpty for a second there ;)

Goldy,

I know Minneapolis districts have an online portal where teachers can post the assignments...does Edina?

I never remember to write stuff down but I always remember to put it in my phone...weird.

Yes, they have it, they just don't use it either. Hard to blame the student when the teachers don't do what they're supposed to either.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

Was that you in the UNH jersey? Outside of the locker room I only asked one person his name and that con so I could semi-apologize about the shot I put into his skate back in St. Louis. Then his wife told me that she's heard stories about the event. :D

I should have been more social.

yes, that was me. and ditto. I had no idea who most people were (especially people on the other team).

If it helps...I was the tall bastard in purple. I didn't realize that was you until you posted here. The UNH threw me off...I was fully expecting some sort of Tony Gwynn Jr. jersey to be on hand - which would have made it real obvious. :)

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

I'm the one who introduced himself to Jen 3 or 4 times. :D I think I was stunned we ended up with a cheesehead Badger fan on Team State Of Hockey. :p

haha - I was double incognito (it's too bad they don't make Tony Gwynn hockey jerseys). actually wolverineTrumpet and I had a large, luxurious locker room all to ourselves, and she wore dark, so I wore my white one, obviously not knowing that put me on the team with all Minnesotans ;)
