Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

It's because the game is on NBC. B's won both games on Versus. How can teams be so different over the course of a game? Bruins look lost, tired, etc. Crap.

Game 6 = NBC Not good news for the Bruins

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

The Bruins are enrolled in the Detroit Red Wings school of "outscore the other team 20 to 4 for the series, yet still manage to lose."

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

Was a little surprised to see Luongo trash talk Thomas after the game regarding Lappy's goal....saying "that's an easy save for me" and "that's what happens when you're out wandering around". After his performance in Boston - particularly the Game 4 softies - I think I'd have just gone quietly into the night. If the focus is solely on goaltending, Thomas is outplaying Luongo.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

I know this guy writes for GQ so take that for what it's worth:

Bruins fans don't deserve the Cup because in the past 10 years other teams have won championships.

I did get a kick out some of the comments - one from a Canadian fan saying every Canadian outside of B.C. was rooting for the Bruins cuz they can't stand the Canucks. Heh.

I won't even bother with the article... the usual gist is more like "Boston doesn't deserve it because I'm sick of seeing them win and their fans are *****s". We get it already.

That's exactly what it is.

It's a cruel game when a gutless puke like lapierre is the hero. Aside from him and burrows, pretty well played by vancouver. Going in I thought whoever played better in the 3rd would win...and this was a replica of games one and two. The early PP failures killed the bruins. Why the hell was campbell put on the PP? Doesn't make sense.

I think the bruins win game six and it comes down to the 3rd period of game seven.

.

I know I sound like a yahoo, but WHERE THEY HELL WAS TYLER SEGUIN!? Seriously. Even Enzo and Pierre were calling for him in the 3rd.

Any chance Claude gets canned before game 6? :p

Bruins Hockey: Never Easy

I like Julien...I think he's a good coach and part of the reason they're here. But campbell on the PP coming off two games where you outscored the canucks 12-1? Don't get that.

"Edzo" and pierre drive me crazy

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs IV: Rome is Burning

Bottom line is that Vancouver made sure that none of the Bruins opportunities were all that worthwhile. It sucks but its true.

It makes sense to me that Luongo's talking that way. For goalies, 90% of the game is 50% mental.

Yeah, but the Canucks have tried head games with Thomas before and they haven't worked. They'd be better off saying nothing and moving on...but they're welcome to keep chattering. Especially 7uon8o.

No, not a head game against Thomas. It's a head game for Luongo. He's saying this stuff to help himself, to keep his confidence. In order to be effective, he has to believe that he's the best goalie out there because all of the Vancouver wins have been one-goal games. Luongo needs to say this for himself. If Thomas gets mad, plays off his game, then that's just a plus in Luongo's eyes.
