He's their 6th D-man. This is the NHL's chance to throw the book at him and make it look like their cracking down on dangerous play, while also not actually penalizing Vancouver.

Still no word? It's been over an hour. I'm thinkng he got nothing and they've let the Boston police know to make plans to surround whatever hotel the Canucks are staying in.

if they do nothing, than their campeign will be regarded by all merely as lip service, and nothing will actually change in the long run.

It will be worse than in 99 when nobody could be in the crease all year until Brett Hull had a skate in the crease when he scored the TO winner that gave Dallas the Cup.

Looks like it's a four game suspension for Rome. No word if that carries over to the regular season if the series doesn't go seven.

They really can't do much this year because of the rules that are in place. As stupid as it is, it'd be more 'unfair' to suspend him the rest of the series and some games starting next season. This summer they can change stuff and then next season they can actually suspend people more than a game or two.


EDIT: 4 games? That's too much under the current rules and way less than what it should be. So...exactly what you'd expect out of the NHL. Good job guys!

The Canucks are practicing at Walter Brown today. BC and Maine fans have already asked the BU faithful to hang the "Sieve" banner for Ro8erto.

Good news: Horton has gone home from MGH. I would have stayed and at least enjoyed some of their awesome clam chowder, but great to hear.

So, I guess that means the series goes seven games and Rome comes back just in time to score the game winner in OT in game 7. That's how this works, right?

Nope, by my math if the series goes seven, Rome is on his final game of suspension.

Unless you easterners use some funny new math. ;)

Well, it is going to be near 90 tomorrow in Boston. If there was ever a time for the power grid to fail, itd be during a Stanley Cup Final game.

Any implications for Vancouver’s D? will they double shift their top guys more? They looked gassed against Boston’s cycle game.

She was being funny. By saying it goes to game 7 and that one goes to OT, he will have completed his 4 game suspension by the end of regulation and will be eligible for the overtime. And then score the winning goal like Burrows did in game 2.

EDIT: So maybe she wasn't being funny...

If the series only goes 6, he will be suspended for 1 game next year.
