Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs II: Welcome to Smashville

Upon hearing the term "helmet to helmet" Roger Goodell instinctively attempted to fine Claude Giroux...

Heard this on the radio: In response to the Mendenhall situation Roger Goodell fined James Harrison $100,000.

Well they yanked $25 million out of an escrow account from Glendale for this past year, so they're down something like 15ish million, then. It's the equivalent of a #7 d-man per team, then.

Ward had 29 points in 80 games in the regular season. He has 12 points in 11 playoff games.

Edit: 13 points in 11 games as he makes it 4-2. Dude's on fire.

With the way Vancouver attempted to clear the loose puck, they basically handed him his second goal. :p

Kesler scores, taunts the Nashville bench, and CBC says "Well, that's what you do when you're on fire"

Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson: D<strike></strike>ouchebags.

While he's more a two way player, it's going to be interesting to see some team potentially overpay for him this summer based off of his playoff performance.

That being said, way to go, Joel. Should be a great game tomorrow night....I'd hate to see the Preds lose all three home games this series, particularly when they have the first legitimate buzz about them in the city (they even knocked spring football coverage off the front page of Sports! )

The one thing I don't like about that rule is if helm was knocked into the net, why should san jose be rewarded by allowing play to continue?
