Hahaha fantastic. :)

Really excited for these Bruins. This is different than last year's team. Last year, the Bruins were lucky to even MAKE the playoffs. They played above themselves for the first 9 or 10 games of the playoffs last year.

This year, they are playing very well, but I still think their ceiling is higher. Not much, because they've played near perfect this series, but if the PP gets going (and it's getting there), this team will be incredibly difficult to beat.

Bruins better close it out and save me some stress. Going back to Philly up 3-1 is scary. Because then Philly has momentum, and is at home, and can make it 3-2. Then you're faced with a Win or Game 7 scenario, which nobody wants. PLEASE BOSTON, close this out tomorrow night.

The TB/Boston series will be very interesting, assuming it gets that far. Boston dominated Tampa this year in the regular season, but they are a different team now, and they are hot. So who knows!

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs II: Welcome to Smashville

I think people overspeculated on how good Washington was in the first round.

Tampa Bay got Roloson and they became a bonafide Cup contender and now look where they are.

This.

I had managed to catch a few of the caps/ rangers series, but the rangers were too decimated by injuries to mount significant offensive threats. Fast forward to Tampa bay ( who are looking like world beaters), and now you expose the otherwise overrated D. Wideman/ Greene were out, which didn’t help – and yes, green’s been playing injured. Washington’s goalie didn’t make big stops when he had too. Ergo, fore…

Agreed on Boston. However, their PP will need work. I cant put a finger on why they are unable to capitalize. Lack of movement? It seems teams are content pressuring the strong side OR staying in passing lanes…either one seems to work. Yet, when they go back to 5 on 5, they can cycle and generate chances really well. Its vexing to say the least.

While I really don't want to see it be Lid's last game... I'd be happy to see this scenario if it happened. I don't think the Griffins D is much of an upgrade (other than the dirty Badger), so it's most likely going to have to come from some trades or FA pickups.

Hmmm... wonder what it would take to get Toby Enstrom from the Thrash... :D

I would love to see Shea Weber here, but Nashville will match anything we offer, so that's a pipe dream. In reality, they would likely wind up taking Lids' salary, dividing up roughly 2/3 of it and making a run at whatever UFA they want, then taking the remaining 1/3 or so and signing a couple 5/6/7 depth d-men to replace Ericsson and probably Salei. Let Kindl man up and play more minutes, we need to see more of him before making the call there.

No one is going to 'replace' Lidstrom whenever he retires; whoever we sign will just be trying to help fill the void, along with the remaining Top 4 stepping up their play.

Howard didn't have his best game last night, but the Wings are scoring <2 goals per game. Unless you're playing Nashville, that won't cut it.

NHL.com giving trouble to anyone else? Screen's all white for me.

Looking at all the gold shirts in the crowd makes me want to say, "Pardon me, but do you have any Grey Poupon?" to the Predator fans.

Despite Nashville tying it late, Hair Gel has been having a nap since. Preds trying to play rope-a-dope hockey again.
