Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Eager just wanted to sign somewhere that he could **** with Sedin and Luongo 6 times a year.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Don't know anything about Adam Pardy, but he got the same deal as Tyler Kennedy

Vokoun is the best goalie available, right? I wonder what contending teams might be interested.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Torres signs in Phoenix. Great. Like I wanted to see more of that ****face.

Doesn't matter - without a goalie like Breezy, they're a non-playoff team.

This market is awful. I think I would actually be agreeable to JovoCop at 1-2 years, $2-2.5M now.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Torres is a puke, no doubt. At least he stayed in the West.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

I just heard the booing from Pittsburgh already

And JovoCop goes to the Panthers.

I don't really understand the Kings going after Richards so hard. I guess there aren't really any sniper wingers available? They already have a ridiculous 1-2 center combo with Kopitar-Richards.

As a Kings fan, I didn't like the Smyth deal (I know he wanted to go, still doesn't mean I gotta like it) I didn't like the Richards deal (gave up a lot) and I hope at the price it'll cost, we don't land Brad. We may need to break the bank for Drew, and I'm curious is some teams with no cap room have to salary dump and we can get Tampa Bay to realize they have to dump Malone for next to nothing.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Colorado traded for Varlamov for a 2012 1st and a 2012 or 13 2nd.

er, what? That's a possible top 5 pick on a deep draft.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Varlamov traded to the Avs.

It does make a bit of sense. They needed a starting goalie, and would otherwise have to consider paying a lot of money to an aging Vokoun. Still, it is a lot to give up for a guy that hasn't played a full season.

Jagr to Flyers, book it done.

Jagr very well may work for them, but my God, if I were a Flyers fan...I'd want Holmgren fired right about now. Do they have any rhyme or reason to what they do?

For a goalie who really isn't that good IMO.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

That Colorado deal is terrible. That team has been destroyed in their last two deals (this one and the Stewart deal).

also terrible: Pierre Gauthier completely screwing up the Halak trade last year. Kept the better goalie, got nothing in return. If Varlamov - who's never won anything can fetch that, what could have PG got for Halak had he shown a little patience? Idiot.
