Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

I think Cole had a bit of a resurgence this year, but 4.5 per? I also think Washington way overpaid for Hamrlik.

He's been good when not hurt. Gives the Habs some much needed size.

Montreal sure likes their Americans.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

If they come out in fall 2012 and talk about how player salaries are just too high, someone should be shot.

The economics of the NHL are still solid...these GMs are just going nuts. The cap only goes up if revenue goes up, correct? So to me, the individual salaries are a reflection of the GM. As long as revenue keeps increasing, spend away.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Good for him. He's got a ring and will continue to be overpaid ;)

Actually would have liked to see him back in Boston, but it wasn't gonna be at 3.5/4 million

It will be interesting to see if he plays with Ribeiro. The two had excellent chemistry many years ago in Montreal.

LOL, Benny Pouliot to Boston for 1.1M a year.

Would love to see him say hello to Krejci....awkward...

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

Dale Tallon loves his former players

Not really sure what Boston sees in this guy...

He's been a huge disappointment, but he does have talent and size (which he seldom used). Also prone to foolish, lazy penalties. But he could score 10-15.

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

More on Pouliot....

Jack Edwards, April 18, 2011: "Benoit Pouliot, one of the greatest disappointments of talent in NHL history".

Re: 2011 NHL Off-Season: The Puck Boat edition

The Wild are the team that truly paid the price of him busting.

At least they turned him into Latendresse, who could still be something. Montreal has nothing to show for it.

What a terrible draft 2005 was! You would think that coming out of a lockout year teams would have done better.
