ARM you still need to add your vote! (or are you waiting until after the game? ;))

Managed to get my vote in just before the awards ceremony begins (feeling very clairvoyant).

Edit: Ooops, I may have been too late.

Your question was "who do you like?" I like the Gophers, they weren't an option in the poll.

Congrats to Wisconsin; the best team won.

Exciting , entertaining game by two talented teams. This is good for the game of women's hockey.

Interesting how BU seems to have suffered from the same fate that befell Cornell in the their semifinal on Friday...not enough shots on goal. 4 in each of the first two periods, then 8 in the third. That's like trying to beat the house at a casino...it may work once in a while but the odds are heavily stacked against you...and often make themselves known at very inopportune times.

Re: 2011 NCAA Womens Hockey Championship Game: Wisconsin Badgers vs. BU Terriers

For those only looking at the score 4-1 may look lopsided for a championship game..

If you factor in the four posts that Bucky hit it easily could have been worse than 4 and quite possibly as high as 10-1...

Poulin with another singular effort for a goal on Rigsby. All of the goals scored on her were selfish efforts that luckily resulted in goals for the opposition. Something for her to work on in the off season..

Good to see Prevost, Kelter, and Brooke Ammerman acknowledged with all tourney honors.. All three would be big top line factors for any team that doesn't have as many role players as the Badgers do.

Now the only question for Bucky is what happens with Mark Johnson and who the captain will be for next years team that should be nearly as explosive as this years was..

Re: 2011 NCAA Womens Hockey Championship Game: Wisconsin Badgers vs. BU Terriers

How did Mark Johnson let Poulin slip through his fingers? He should have recruited her;)
Didn't she score both goals against his team in the olympics?

That's a bit of an exaggeration. I do see this as a legit 4-1, 5-1 game.
I must say, I much rather see the best 2 teams playing in the finals. The tournament was never set up to deliver that.
It's very disappointing.
The worst part is the ncaa.com announcers were just bragging about how the conferences are represented in the frozen four. Sure, after cheating kids out of their deserving place, you can all have your fun and political agenda.
NCAA, you suck.

Agreed. You have one-empty net goal that inflates the score a bit. If instead you get better luck with the posts for 1 or 2 goals, it's still 4-1 or 5-1.

Something get lost in translation between Cardinal and Scarlet. It all looks rouge to me.

Sure, they want to grow the sport, rather than present a statistical analysis of how great the WCHA is. I can live with it. I just hope the selection criteria is more fair to the WCHA next season. I don't think it's necessarily obvious why the process was unfair to the WCHA though -- it is definitely not as simple as there being a vast east-wing conspiracy within the NCAA working against the WCHA.

Since the game concluded, UW has gotten a couple more votes...but no additions to those in the BU camp...what gives?

Well, maybe she'll transfer now. Worked for Prough.

As I remember the plays, in one of them, the puckcarrier was alone. I don't see how her putting a shot on goal is selfish. In the other two, the player with the puck cut to the slot and put a shot on goal. It isn't like either had a player wide open and refused to give them the puck. I'd say they were all nice goals, unworthy of a slight.

Disagree. The final was a great contest. It showed two things to me.

One - Wisconsin is dominant when they are on, and they showed it specially in the second period. There was a stat on the board in the rink that showed they had not lost since mid November, and outscored their opossition by a whopping average margin since that time.

Two - BU clearly deserved to be in the final. They were better than both BC and Cornell this weekend. One of the other WCHA teams lost to an HE team, so suggesting the wrong teams were in the final is like crying over spilt milk.

My hats off to Wisconsin. They showed today why they were number one for most of the year. The best team this weekend won. The first two periods in the final were great for womens hockey. The refs let them play and it was a very enjoyable final to watch.

Huh ?......Both the goals scored by Poulin today and Wasylk on Friday were fantastic goals to see, both great efforts by the goal scorers. Wasylk cut around a Wisco D, cut in front of the net and scored on the reverse backhand. Poulin looked off the goalie, faked the pass and then on her off wing put the puck upstairs far corner, also on the back hand. To me they were simply fantastic goals. Not much the goalie could have done better on either.
