2011 Frozen Four Thread - Minnesota Duluth - Notre Dame - North Dakota - Michigan

Re: 2011 Frozen Four Thread - Minnesota Duluth - Notre Dame - North Dakota - Michigan

I'd be careful bringing that up since I bet Duluth is higher up the list to be foreclosed on than MI. Especially with out state's higher education funding issues right now. I mean why would people want to be in Duluth during hockey season for any extended period of time? (not including ski trips).

The difference is when people leave Duluth during the winter they actually come in the summer. Unlike Michigan where they never come back. Only state in the union losing people. Took that title from NoDak.

Oh, and this must be your Christmas Photo then:

These people look like my in-laws from North Dakota! Gilby, ND, one of Grand Forks grand suburbs.

We can't get enough people for all our jobs these days, and places to live if you move out here right now are few and far between.

Glad the frozen four is almost here can finally watch some college hockey as my Badgers didn't get to the tournament, but what can one do. No team in the field I really can cheer for alot but the team I want to win out of them all is Duluth, yes that's coming from a Badger fan. Michigan and NoDak are not worthy for more nat'l championships and Notre Dame is just Notre Dame. I hope to see a packed house in St. Paul.

Oh yeah is there any good sports bars (not old enough to drink) in St. Paul, should get some places down for family as I forgot all the ones we went to last year.

McGovern's takes underage patrons but it get's a little rough after 7 or 8pm for kids, especially with Nord Dagoota rubes in the bar.;)

A tale of two Dirtys....

Please. We'd break whiskey bottles and cut up the entire UMAAAA. Plus we'd have our alumni pilots drop bombs on the UMAAAA. Not Geist though. I don't trust him.

Speaking of the UMAAAA, will UMAA be sending the UMAAAB to play to St. Paul? Or will we get to experience the real UMAA band play one song?

Frankly, I expected more. Not your best effort.

Yeah, congrats on winning the Special Olympics Region. True accomplishment.

Totally redeemed yourself - Well done!

The best part about Dirty? It's not just a board persona- that is how he actually is.

Not old enough, but want to drink? I hear Blarney's

I disagree.

Real Life Dirty is about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times more spastic than Internet Dirty.
:D

He was pretty well behaved when I met him. Of course, I only met him for 10 minutes inbetween periods at REA...

He must have been on like elephant tranquilizers.

Let's discuss what happened last time I saw Dirty.

1. He was screaming at the top of his lungs, which is his conversational tone.
2. He spit on me about 100 times due to said screaming.
3. He drank a nice piping hot whiskey & coke & Mr. Burns backwash.
4. He jumped on Biddy's lap and kicked a full soda all over me.
5. He was banished by the Xcel staff to the "reservation" at the top of the section.

Yea, the Michigan economy is horrific right now thanks to a former Governor who did not want to diversify industry.

Yeah, it was all the fault of one governor, and no other state in the Union suffered at all from a stalled economy over the last 3 years.

In a state where the population center (and much of the outlying industrial base as well) had depended in large part on a single industry for the better part of a century there is no factual basis to blame one former governor for her failure to "diversify" industry. The policies of the five previous administrations also did little or nothing to stem the tide of lost jobs in the auto industry, something that didn't just start in the last 8 years. Detroit and the US automakers have been steadily shedding jobs since George Romney was governor.

If you want to display a stunning lack of understanding of economics, go find an appropriate thread in the Cafe. Oh, and so we don't even need to go there, I lean to the right on most issues and tend to vote for Republican candidates about 75% of the time. So no, I was no fawning fan of Jennifer Granholm.
