Only 64 500 at the Superdome tonight. Good thing they kept out those schools with lackluster fan bases.
I don't think that's fair. The Sugar Bowl almost always has an SEC representative. Which two teams would have drawn more fans?
That's probably true, a bit too much snark from me there.
At the same time, if you make a choice for your bowl based on attendance reasons, shouldn't you be able to sell the place out?
Also, I heard Nessler say he's friends with Ric Flair,
Minnesota is a very small state.
lolwut?
I think he is referring to the fact that Ric Flair worked here for some time, and Brad Nessler is from here. Small world sort of thing.

Out of the other possible matchups I think it was the best for attendance. To be honest, that low figure surprises me a little. I didn't think they'd have any trouble selling those two teams out for a BCS Bowl. That depends on what the alternative matchup would have been. It's quite possible this was the best one they could come up with for attendance purposes.
I dunno. It's not as if VaTech made a late run to secure a Sugar berth and "save" their season. They were planning Orange all the way (as they do every year, since Miami and FSU disappeared), right up to the point where the cHokies (couldn't resist) fell on their head in the conference championship.
Given how badly they lost that game, I'm surprised they did as well as they did tonight. Of course, that might also be that Michigan has some flaws, too.
I'll balance that out with a compliment. Is that Logan Thomas kid a freshman? He could be a good one...
